  • Patent number: 11758033
Abstract: Techniques for communication protocol based on physical configuration of a wireless device are described and may be implemented to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. For instance, configuration of an antenna system of a wireless device is adapted to optimize wireless performance in different physical configurations, such as open configurations and folded configurations. Further, network communications are adapted to optimize wireless communication with a wireless device in different physical configurations of the wireless device. The described techniques, for instance, optimize performance in different frequency bands based on changes in device configuration between open positions and folded positions.

  • Patent number: 11752955
Abstract: A vehicle interior panel such as an instrument panel includes a substrate having a thickness between 0.5 mm and 2.25 mm, inclusive, a decorative layer, and an intermediate layer located between the substrate and the decorative layer. A post-form warpage of the substrate is less than 15 mm at an edge region of the substrate. A serpentine rib located near the edge region helps impart structural rigidity to the panel during a foaming process to achieve an adequate degree of post-form warpage.

  • Patent number: 11584047
Abstract: A sealing member for a powder slush molding apparatus includes an elastomeric main body comprising a head portion, an anchor portion, and a neck portion extending between and joining the head portion and the anchor portion. The head portion of the sealing member defines at least one interior channel that is centered on a midline of the elastomeric main body and which has a polygonal sectional shape. The polygonal sectional shape of the at least one interior channel, and its location on the midline, permits the head portion of the sealing member to attain a measure of compressibility that helps limit the force needed to compress the head portion without rendering the sealing member too flexible that it cannot adequately retain its shape. The sealing member is useful in establishing a seal between a shell and a powder box of a powder slush molding apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11444673
Abstract: Techniques for antenna system with multiple transmit paths are described and may be implemented via a wireless device to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. Generally, the described techniques provide a wireless device with the ability to connect to different access points of a wireless network, such as 4G LTE and 5G NR portions of an UTRAN New Radio—Dual Connectivity (EN-DC)-compliant network. In at least some implementations, the described techniques utilize four-antenna systems configured to utilize low frequency bands, such as LTE low-band and 5G NR low-band frequencies. Further, the described systems enable multiple wireless protocols (e.g., LTE and 5G NR) to be used concurrently and cooperatively, such as to provide 5G NR connectivity utilizing an LTE network infrastructure.

  • Patent number: 10836439
Abstract: A fixation leg for a vehicle interior panel includes an impact energy absorption region having one or more partial or complete perforations. Each one of the perforations may be formed by laser ablating material from the fixation leg at the impact energy absorption region. The impact energy absorption region is weakened due to the partial or complete perforations such that upon impact with the vehicle interior panel, the fixation leg can break and absorb some of the impact energy. In one embodiment, the fixation leg attaches a substrate of a vehicle instrument panel to a structural crossmember.

  • Patent number: 10829073
Abstract: A vehicle interior panel includes a seal between a substrate and an airbag chute and around an opening in the substrate through which the airbag chute is installed. The seal prevents a foam layer from extending into the opening when the foam layer is being molded. The seal is attached to the airbag chute prior to assembly with the substrate and is made from a material that is more flexible than the airbag chute material. The seal can be attached to the airbag chute in a two-shot molding process and spaced from the perimeter of the airbag chute along its back side. During molding of the foam layer, foam expansion pressure acts to improve the function of the seal as a foam barrier.
