Patent number: 7941893Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool has a housing having a connecting socket for effecting flow communication to a vacuum device of a vacuum cleaning device. The housing has a suction opening through which a working air flow enters the housing. The housing has an outlet opening through which the working air flow exits from the housing. A cleaning tool is rotatably supported in the housing. An air turbine is rotatably supported in a turbine chamber of the housing and drives the cleaning tool in rotation. A control device controls the drive power for driving the cleaning tool based on a pressure existing in the vacuum cleaning tool.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2007Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Assignee: Düpro AGInventor: Peter Wörwag

Patent number: 6813809Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool of a vacuum cleaning device has a housing with a turbine chamber and a working chamber. The housing has a suction slot extending transversely in the vacuum cleaning tool. A suction airflow generated by the vacuum cleaning device enters the working chamber via the suction slot. First and second flow connections between the working and turbine chambers allow the suction airflow to enter the turbine chamber. An air turbine in the turbine chamber is rotatably driven by the suction airflow and drives a cleaning tool in the working chamber. The housing has an outlet opening allowing the suction airflow to exit the turbine chamber. The first and second flow connections are located on opposite sides of an imaginary plane defined by the axis of rotation of the air turbine and a center of the outlet opening. The cross-section of one of the flow connections is adjustable.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2002Date of Patent: November 9, 2004Assignee: Düpro AGInventor: Peter Wörwag

Patent number: 6615445Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool has a housing with a brush chamber and a turbine chamber. A vacuum connector is connected to the housing remote from the brush chamber and has an outlet window. A working roller is arranged in the brush chamber and driven by an air turbine in the turbine chamber. The air turbine has an annular vane arrangement with vanes. The vacuum airflow enters the brush chamber via a suction slot, flows from the brush chamber into the turbine chamber, passes through the air turbine, and exits through the outlet window of the vacuum connector. In the flow direction of the vacuum airflow the outlet window is higher than the intake window. A connecting line between central areas of the intake and outlet windows intersects the air turbine as a secant to define a circle segment in which four to six of the vanes of the annular vane arrangement are located.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Düpro AGInventor: Peter Wörwag

Patent number: 6550099Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool for a vacuum cleaning device has a housing having a vacuum connector connected to the vacuum cleaning device. The housing has an underside and an elongate intake opening arranged in the underside. A brush roll is arranged in the housing parallel to the elongate intake opening. A drive is arranged in the housing and drivingly coupled to the brush roll. An exchangeable vacuum shoe is detachably connected to the housing and has two wall portions extending at least approximately parallel to the brush roll. The brush roll is arranged between the two wall portions.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2001Date of Patent: April 22, 2003Assignee: Düpro AGInventor: Peter Wörwag

Patent number: 6484356Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool has a housing with a brush chamber and a turbine chamber. A vacuum connector is connected to the housing remote from the brush chamber. A brush roller is arranged in the brush chamber and an air turbine is arranged in the turbine chamber for driving the brush roller. A vacuum airflow enters the brush chamber via a suction slot, flows from the brush chamber into the turbine chamber, flows within the turbine chamber through the air turbine, and exits from the turbine chamber into the vacuum connector. The turbine chamber has an intake cross-section transverse to a flow direction of the vacuum airflow that is greater than an outlet cross-section at the turbine chamber end facing the outlet window. Intermediate cross-sections of the interior of the turbine chamber decrease in a direction toward the turbine chamber end such that the turbine chamber tapers toward the outlet cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2001Date of Patent: November 26, 2002Assignee: Düpro AGInventor: Peter Wörwag

Patent number: 6477735Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool has a housing with a partition dividing an interior of the housing into a brush chamber and a turbine chamber. A vacuum connector is connected to the housing remote from the brush chamber. A working roller is arranged in the brush chamber. An air turbine is arranged in the turbine chamber and drives in rotation the working roller. A vacuum air flow enters the brush chamber, flows from the brush chamber through an intake window into the turbine chamber, flows within the turbine chamber through the air turbine, and exits from the turbine chamber to the vacuum connector. The turbine chamber has a chamber bottom with a ramp ascending toward the outlet window in the area where the vacuum airflow exits from the turbine chamber. The ramp is through-shaped and has a groove extending in the flow direction of the vacuum airflow.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2001Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Düpro AGInventor: Peter Wörwag

Patent number: 4394606Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for controlling the rotational speed of an electric motor based upon the load encountered by the electric motor. A load sensor provides a voltage level based upon the operating load of the electric motor and accumulates this voltage in accordance with the cycle of the alternating current supplied to the motor. If during a cycle of the alternating current, the voltage exceeds a predetermined level, a transistor will be biassed into conduction, said transistor turning off a thyristor and preventing any further conduction of the thyristor during that cycle of the alternating current. Thus the duty cycle of the thyristor determines the total amount of current supplied to the electric motor and this current level determines the rotational rpm of the motor.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1980Date of Patent: July 19, 1983Assignee: Dupro A.G.Inventor: Peter Woerwag

Patent number: 4370777Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement in a vacuum cleaner having a roller-shaped brush mounted in the vacuum nozzle thereof. A separate rotational speed control is provided for the electric motor which operates the roller-shaped brush and in preferred embodiments this rotational speed control is adjustable by the operator of the vacuum cleaner. In a further embodiment, two separate rotational speed controls are provided, one controlling the speed of the roller-brush motor and the other controlling the speed of the vacuum-generating motor. A still further embodiment comprises a single rotational speed control which can be interchangeably switched into or out of connection with either the roller-brush motor or the vacuum-generating motor. A still further embodiment discloses a roller-brush motor speed control which can be added to existing vacuum cleaners.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 1980Date of Patent: February 1, 1983Assignee: Duepro AGInventor: Peter Woerwag
