  • Patent number: 8140489
Abstract: A method for analyzing content on a web page. In one method embodiment, the present invention accesses a web page having content. Additionally, the web page is processed through a filter wherein the filter transfers the content of the web page to an analyzer. The analyzer analyzes the content of the web page. The analyzer then returns the result of the analyzing to the server which appends the result of the analyzing to the content of the web page. The results are then displayed on the web page. In so doing, the ability to provide an analysis of the functionality of a web page at the time of development is provided.

  • Patent number: 6055550
Abstract: An auto resizing of fields system is disclosed that permits resizing a selected group of cells on a computer generated form. The selected group of cells are aligned, such as in a column, on a computer generated form. Data for the computer form is contained on records that may be stored at remote data sources. To auto size a selected group of cells, sample records are selected, and for each record selected, a display size large enough to display data without obstruction in the corresponding cell is calculated. From the display sizes calculated, a single optimal size for all cells in the group of cells is determined. Based on the optimal size, the group of cells are resized, and additional cells, which are visible on the computer generated form, are also resized to reflect the resizing of the group of cells. A technique for calculating an optimal width for a selected column on a form is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5933645
Abstract: A software system having a software application that generates an event notification message for each of a set of predefined significant events and having a custom extension module that receives the notification message and then selects a coordination style. The coordination style determines whether a custom event handler for the significant event contained in the custom extension module supplements or replaces a default event handler for the significant event contained in the software application.

  • Patent number: 5842201
Abstract: A method and apparatus for retrieving and displaying detail data is provided which allows a user to dictate the timing of detail data retrieval. Upon selection of a master record, if a user indicates that he wishes to immediately view the detail data associated with the master record, and if the window that actually displays that data is currently visible to the user, then the detail data is automatically retrieved and displayed. Conversely, if the user indicates that he does not need to view the detail data, and if the window that would actually display such data is currently visible to the user, then no detail data is retrieved or displayed until the user affirmatively requests it (that is, "activates" the master record). In all cases, if the window that will actually display such detail data is not visible to the user, the data in that window is not retrieved. Thus, detail data is retrieved and displayed only when necessary (i.e.

  • Patent number: 5802512
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method for storing, verifying and salvaging user-defined queries in a database environment. The method comprises retrieving a stored query and an associated stored application version identifier and comparing the stored application version identifier with a current application version identifier. If the application version identifiers do not match, the entire stored query is checked for validity. If an error is found in the stored query, the query is parsed into subparts and each subpart of the stored query is checked for validity. If a subpart is valid, it is built into a new, updated query. The stored version identifier is updated to reflect the current application version so that verification is not performed again.
