An impedance is measured of a formation surrounding the wellbore. Based on the impedance, the circuit is configured into one of a first circuit configuration for operating the resistivity imaging device in a first mode and a second circuit configuration for operating the resistivity imaging device in a second mode. The resistivity imaging device is operated using the circuit in the one of the first circuit configuration and the second circuit configuration.

The disconnection is non-destructive and allows a reconnection of the disconnected tools after retrieval from the well. The system also enables testing of the disconnection mechanism before deploying the wireline tool string into the well.

    Abstract: A sampling system for measuring the presence and concentration of inorganic ion species, including, metals, metalloids and non-metals, in a liquid solution including a first sampling unit. The first sampling unit includes a potentiometric subsystem configured to gather environmental metrics of the liquid sample, a preparation subsystem, coupled to the potentiometric module, the preparation subsystem being configured to prepare and isolate contaminants of concern in a flow of a liquid sample into metal, metalloid, or non-metal ionic forms; and a voltammetric subsystem selectively coupled to the preparation subsystem, potentiometric subsystem and a sample source, the voltammetric subsystem being configured to identify and determine a concentration of metal, metalloid, or non-metal ionic species through stripping voltammetry. The system is configured to compare a value of a stripping signal of the sample with a predetermined value to determine if dilution of the sample is required.

The system comprises a preparation module, a potentiometric module and a voltammetric module. The preparation module is adapted to prepare and isolate the contaminants of concern in a liquid sample into its electro-active form. The potentiometric module is coupled to the preparation module and adapted to gather environmental metrics of the liquid sample. The voltammetric module is adapted to receive the sample from the potentiometric module or preparation module and identify and determine a concentration of electro-active species.
