  • Patent number: 7591944
Abstract: A method of making a sulphided ion exchange resin from an ion exchange resin containing primary or secondary amino group comprises passing a non-aqueous liquid, e.g. a hydrocarbon, feedstock containing elemental sulphur or organic, or inorganic, di-or poly-sulphides through a bed of an ion exchange resin containing primary or secondary amino groups, and so unsulphided ion exchange resins containing primary or secondary amine groups may be used to remove such elemental sulphur or sulphur compounds from liquid, e.g. hydrocarbon, feedstocks. The sulphided ion exchange resins may be used to remove elemental mercury or organic mercury compounds from liquid, e.g. hydrocarbon, streams.

  • Publication number: 20090020487
Abstract: A board holder comprising a wall mounting bracket 1 supporting a curved steel bar 2. The bar 2 is able to pivot or swing up and down with respect to the bracket and will tend to swing downwards under gravity unless such swing is arrested. The bar 2 is curved so that it doubles back on itself in front of the bracket 1. This creates a space 3 between opposite portions of the bar with an entrance 4 opening into the space for receiving a snow board or surfboard, etc. The board, etc, is held between a first contact part 6 and a second contact part 7 of the bar. Gravity, coupled with the weight of the bar 2 and the board 5 serve to hold the board in position with a lower part 11 of the board 5 butting against the wall 12. The board 5 thus angles outwardly from the wall up towards the board holder.

  • Publication number: 20080126520
Abstract: The present invention is a converter for abstracting network devices away from manufacturer specific syntax and/or semantic capabilities by making the network devices configuration independent trough syntax and/or semantic conversion. An application program interface converts between input options and output options. The converter allows the user to choose from any input module to program end devices. The converter may function as a point and click option, a command line interface or any other interface. The present invention allows for the choice of output module based on requirements of a target network device.

  • Publication number: 20070119150
Abstract: A turbofan gas turbine engine includes a forward fan section with a row of fan rotor blades, a core engine, and a fan bypass duct downstream of the forward fan section and radially outwardly of the core engine. The forward fan section has only a single stage of variable fan guide vanes which are variable fan outlet guide vanes downstream of the forward fan rotor blades. An exemplary embodiment of the engine includes an afterburner downstream of the fan bypass duct between the core engine and an exhaust nozzle. The variable fan outlet guide vanes are operable to pivot from a nominal OGV position at take-off to an open OGV position at a high flight Mach Number which may be in a range of between about 2.5-4+. Struts extend radially across a radially inwardly curved portion of a flowpath of the engine between the forward fan section and the core engine.

  • Patent number: 7216288
Abstract: A method, and program storage device apparatus for adapting multi-media presentations of various formats to a new format suitable for playback on a general scene description based playback system. More specifically, when mult-media presentations do not contain scene description components, such components appropriate to the multi-media presentation will be constructed. The multi-media presentation will then be presented together with the created scene description components to the playback system for decoding rendering.
