  • Patent number: 5249333
Abstract: A vacuum cleaning tool for a vacuum cleaner, including an intake opening and a brush roller that is disposed in the intake opening and is rotatably driven by an air turbine that in turn is driven by an intake air flow. To obtain a high torque at the brush roller even when the intake air stream fluctuates, the air turbine is embodied as a flow-through turbine having at least one ring-like blade arrangement, between the blades of which are formed axially delimited flow paths for radially receiving the intake air flow and guiding same into the center of the blade arrangement, and for radially discharging the intake air flow out of this inner space.

  • Patent number: 5014386
Abstract: A suction nozzle for a vacuum cleaner, including a brush that is disposed in the suction nozzle and is driven by a battery-powered electric motor. The suction nozzle is in flow communication with the vacuum cleaner via a suction hose. The suction nozzle is provided with a shaft for guiding and handling same. At least one bracket is disposed in the vicinity of the guide shaft for accommodating at least one battery for the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 5008973
Abstract: A multi-purpose suction nozzle, for a vacuum cleaner, for cleaning different types of surfaces, such as hard smooth surfaces, textile floor coverings, and upholstery, whereby the suction nozzle is detachably connected to a suction hose of the vacuum cleaner via a pivotably mounted connector. The suction nozzle has a housing with a first suction opening that communicates with a first flow channel, and with a second suction opening about which are provided planar slide surfaces and which communicates with a second flow channel. A brush is rotatably mounted in the housing in such a way that bristles of the brush extend through the first suction opening. A mechanism provides for selective communication of either the first flow channel or the second flow channel with the connector.

  • Patent number: 4827558
Abstract: A vacuum conduit arrangement for use with a central dust-collecting system that is provided in a building. The arrangement includes vacuum conduits that are interconnected by couplings. The arrangement further includes at least one connector for a vacuum hose of a cleaning apparatus. The vacuum conduits are conduit-like floor or base moldings that are disposed in the corner zones between the floors and walls of the building. These moldings can be easily retrofitted in an exposed manner as a conduit system along the edges of the floors.

  • Patent number: 4776059
Abstract: A vacuum-cleaning apparatus for cleaning furniture or the like, especially upholstered furniture, upholstered vehicle seats, etc. The apparatus is connected via a vacuum conduit to a vacuum-cleaning unit. A first vacuum nozzle is provided with a brush and includes a housing having an intake opening that leads to the vacuum conduit. A second vacuum nozzle is embodied as a gap-cleaning nozzle and is pivotable, relative to the first vacuum nozzle, out of an inoperative position into an operative position, and vice versa. An air duct is pivotably mounted in the housing. In the operative position of the gap-cleaning nozzle, the latter communicates via the air duct with the intake opening of the housing to provide flow communication from the gap-cleaning nozzle to the vacuum conduit.

  • Patent number: 4749389
Abstract: An apparatus for humidifying and purifying the air of a room. The apparatus has a water supply tank with a cover in which is mounted a motor. Disposed on the motor shaft is a fan wheel for generating a flow of air through the housing, a fan wheel for cooling the motor, and a pump tube. When the pump tube is rotated, it delivers a stream of liquid that leaves the pump tube as a free, sheet-like swirl of water through which the air flow is positively guided. Consequently, the air flowing through the swirl of water is purified and humidified.
