  • Patent number: 10823912
Abstract: Described herein is a top-side vertical outcoupler for use in an integrated photonics device. The integrated photonics device can include a photonics circuit, where light can propagate through waveguide(s) to outcoupler(s). The outcoupler(s) can redirect the light to optics, which can then collimate, focus, and/or direct the light to a launch region located on an external surface of the device. The integrated photonics device can include a plurality of layers deposited on a supporting layer. The plurality of layers can be used to form the waveguide(s) and the outcoupler(s). By forming the outcoupler(s) of the same material as the waveguide(s), the amount of light that is lost can be reduced or minimized. Additionally, the reduced number of interfaces that the light has to pass through to reach the outcoupler(s) can allow for better control of the divergence angles of the emitted light.

  • Publication number: 20200304681
Abstract: In an example, a method includes acquiring data representing an article to be printed. The data may include at least one element set associated with print addressable location(s) and comprising a first and second element. The elements each identify a print material or print material combination and is each associated with a probability that the print material or print material combination identified thereby is to be applied to the associated print addressable location. A halftone matrix may be acquired comprising threshold values of a first and second value range. The threshold values of the first and second value range are distributed according to a first and second distribution pattern respectively. The halftone matrix may be applied to the data to determine print instructions to distribute the print material or print material combination identified by the first and second element according to the first and second distribution patterns respectively.

  • Patent number: 10644735
Abstract: Mechanisms for interferer detection can detect interferers by detecting elevated signal amplitudes in one or more of a plurality of bins (or bands) in a frequency range between a maximum frequency (fMAX) and a minimum frequency (fMIN). To perform rapid interferer detection, the mechanisms downconvert an input signal x(t) with a local oscillator (LO) to a complex baseband signal xI(t)+jxQ(t). xI(t) and xQ(t) are then multiplied by m unique pseudorandom noise (PN) sequences (e.g., Gold sequences) gm(t) to produce m branch signals for I and m branch signals for Q. The branch signals are then low pass filtered, converted from analog to digital form, and pairwise combined by a pairwise complex combiner. Finally, a support recovery function is used to identify interferers.
