  • Patent number: 9220390
Abstract: A cleaning device (2) comprising a first support member (6), a second support member (8), a cleaning pad (10) which is supported by the first and second support members (6, 8) and which is made of a liquid-absorbing material, a lever mechanism (34) for the first and second support members (6, 8), a drying aperture (32), and a handle (44), and the cleaning device (2) being such that: (i) the first and second support members (6, 8) are pivotable towards each other; and (ii) pulling on the lever mechanism (34) causes the first and second support members (6, 8) to pivot towards each other and be pulled into the drying aperture (32) in the cleaning device (2).

  • Publication number: 20060107431
Abstract: A supplied air helmet 10 that has a visor 14 and a face seal 16. The face seal 16 is secured to the visor 14 and includes a sealing member 18 that comprises a knitted fabric. The knitted fabric is disposed on the face seal 16 in a location where the face seal 16 makes contact with a wearer's face. The use of a knitted fabric for the face seal 16 makes the supplied air helmet 10 more comfortable to wear and makes it more likely that helmet wearers will consistently use the face seal 16 while donning the supplied air helmet 10.

  • Publication number: 20060101555
Abstract: A supplied air helmet 10 comprises a visor 14 and a face seal 12 that is secured to the visor. The face seal 12 includes a sealing member 18 and a frame member 16. The sealing member 18 extends radially inward from the frame member 16 and has first and second regions of permeability 20 and 22. The second region 22 has greater permeability than the first region 20. The use of a face seal 12 that has differentiated permeability allows for a controlled flow of air through the interior of the supplied air helmet 10.

  • Patent number: 6465107
Abstract: A silicone-containing resin, film and film on a subweb are described. The resin and film are formed from (i) polyolefin, (ii) dimethyl polysiloxane having functional end-groups, (iii) vinyl silane compound, and (iv) ultra-high molecular weight silicone polymer optionally using (v) an organo-peroxide agent and (vi) an organo-metallic moisture curing agent. Resins consisting essentially of (a) functionalized polyolefins; (b) dimethyl polysiloxanes having functional end-groups to react with said functionalized polyolefins; (c) ultra-high molecular weight silicone and optional organo-metallic moisture curing agent and films or multilayer structures made therefrom are also described. The film is suitable for use in release films and in liquid-absorbing products.

  • Patent number: 6331595
Abstract: A method for the grafting of a monomer onto a polyolefin in the presence of an organic peroxide is disclosed. The polyolefin is a polyolefin that, when molten, undergoes cross-linking in the presence of the organic peroxide. The method comprises: (a) admixing the polyolefin in an extruder with 25 to 6000 ppm, based on the weight of the polyolefin, of an organic peroxide coated onto a carrier polymer and up to 5%, by weight of the polyolefin, of a grafting monomer capable of being grafted onto the polyolefin in the presence of the organic peroxide. The admixture is heated to a temperature above the melting point of both the polyolefin and the carrier polymer under admixing conditions to effect grafting of said grafting monomer onto the polyolefin, said carrier polymer undergoing chain scission in preference to cross-linking in the presence of the organic peroxide at said temperature. Grafted polyolefin is extruded from the extruder.
