  • Patent number: 12282524
Abstract: A computer accesses a first symbolic expression for an output matrix as a function of an input matrix at a computing device comprising processing circuitry and memory. The computer computes a first Jacobian of the input matrix with respect to an input tangent space. The computer computes a second Jacobian of the output matrix with respect to the input matrix. The computer computes a third Jacobian of an output tangent space with respect to the input matrix. The computer applies symbolic matrix multiplication to the first Jacobian, the second Jacobian, and the third Jacobian to obtain a second symbolic expression for the output tangent space with respect to the input tangent space. The computer provides a representation of the second symbolic expression, the second symbolic expression representing a computed tangent-space Jacobian.

  • Patent number: 12283468
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for increasing energy output from Z-pinch and other plasma confinement systems. In one example, a system may include memory storing instructions that, if executed by one or more processors, cause the system to adjust one or more parameters to generate a magnetic field which is sufficiently strong to axially compress a fuel gas to induce thermonuclear fusion and increase a fusion energy gain factor greater than a fusion energy gain factor limit attainable by the thermonuclear fusion. In certain examples, adjusting the one or more parameters may include adjusting a duty cycle of a discharge current applied to the fuel gas based, at least in part, on an amount of thermal collisions between fusion byproducts and the fuel gas. In certain examples, by adjusting the duty cycle, the magnetic field may be adjusted to induce or increase the thermal collisions.

  • Patent number: 12283055
Abstract: A computing system automatically detects, in a sequence of video frames, a video frame region that depicts a scoreboard. The video frames of the sequence depict image elements including (i) scoreboard image elements that are unchanging across the video frames of the sequence and (ii) other image elements that change across the video frames of the sequence. Given this, the computing system (a) receives the sequence, (b) engages in an edge-detection process to detect, in the video frames of the sequence, a set of edges of the depicted image elements, (c) identifies a subset of the detected set of edges based on each edge of the subset being unchanging across the video frames of the sequence, and (d) detects, based on the edges of the identified subset, the video frame region that depicts the scoreboard.

  • Patent number: 12284722
Abstract: An access point that provides a transition recommendation is described. This access point may provide a first WLAN having a first capability. During operation, the access point may associate with the electronic device. Moreover, the access point may determine that the electronic device has a second capability that is different from the first capability. For example, the first capability may include compatibility with a first IEEE 802.11 standard and the second capability may include compatibility with a second IEEE 802.11 standard. Next, the access point may provide the transition recommendation addressed to the electronic device based at least in part on the difference in the first capability and the second capability, where the transition recommendation recommends that the electronic device transition from the first WLAN to a second WLAN that has the second capability.
