    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention recite a method and system for pre-loading and executing code within the cache. In one embodiment, an indication to operate an electronic device in a sleep state is received. At least one instance of code is loaded into a cache memory in response to receiving the indication. The at least one instance of code is for causing the electronic device to operate in said sleep state. In embodiments of the present invention, the at least one instance of code further comprises a registry setting for a memory controller. The at least one instance of code is then accessed from the cache memory.
