  • Publication number: 20240104989
Abstract: A system for monitoring an entry-restricted danger zone of an industrial plant, wherein a machine is arranged inside the entry-restricted danger zone, the system comprising: a safety control apparatus to control operation of the machine in a fail-safe manner; an entry portal to enable a person to enter and exit the danger zone; an entry control apparatus to authenticate entry of authorized persons, the entry portal being assigned to the entry control apparatus; and a login controller to log information about a current entry event of the entry-restricted danger zone and about historical entry events of the entry-restricted danger zone, wherein the safety control apparatus is configured to generate, upon request of an authenticated, entry-authorized person, a switch-off signal for a fail-safe shutdown of the machine and to prevent a restart of the machine while at least one person is still present inside the entry-restricted danger zone.

  • Patent number: 11066798
Abstract: The present invention relates to a water intake structure according to a first aspect. The structure includes a plurality of elongate members. The elongate members couple together and are trapezoidal in lateral cross-section. There is also provided a water intake structure according to a second aspect. The structure includes a plurality of elongate members. The elongate members couple together. Each said elongate member has first and second exterior surfaces that are planar and a third exterior surface that is outwardly concave.

  • Publication number: 20200391255
Abstract: There is provided a conduit cleaner including an elongate body. The cleaner includes at least one vane coupled to and extending radially outwards from a longitudinal axis of the elongate body. The at least one vane has a distal end portion shaped to abut against and clean an inner surface of a conduit. According to a second aspect, there is provided a conduit cleaner including an elongate body. The cleaner includes a plurality of turbines rotatably coupled to the elongate body. Each turbine includes at least one vane extending outwards from a longitudinal axis of the elongate body. The vanes have distal end portions shaped to abut against and clean an inner surface of the conduit.

  • Publication number: 20200392698
Abstract: There is provided a material transfer system including a reciprocating conveyor which selectively moves in a first direction of movement and a second direction of movement opposite the first direction of movement. The conveyor is configured to promote movement of material in the first direction and inhibit movement of material in the second direction. There is further provided a material transfer system comprising a first reciprocating conveyor which selectively moves material towards a first location. The system includes a second reciprocating conveyor which overlaps with the first reciprocating conveyor. The second reciprocating conveyor selectively moves material from the first location towards a second location. There is also provided a material transfer system comprising a passageway having an upstream inlet and a downstream outlet. The passageway may be a conduit, a siphon or chute. The system includes a reciprocating conveyor conveying fluvial material towards the inlet of the passageway.

  • Patent number: 5872359
Abstract: The invention includes a system and a method for maintaining a selected concentration of a sterilant vapor during vapor phase sterilization. The system includes a sterilization chamber with a source of multicomponent vapor containing a sterilant vapor, an electromagnetic radiation source capable of generating radiation at a plurality of wavelengths, a radiation detector for detecting and quantitating the electromagnetic radiation absorbed at the wavelengths, the detector generating absorbance signals proportional to the concentration of the sterilant vapor in the multicomponent vapor, a microprocessor programmed to compare the absorbance signals with reference absorbance signals, to calculate the sterilant vapor concentration therefrom and to generate an output signal, and a controller to receive the output signal and to control addition of the sterilant vapor to the sterilization chamber to maintain a selected concentration of the sterilant vapor in the sterilization chamber during the sterilization process.

  • Patent number: 5534221
Abstract: A system for sterilizing an object including a hollow cassette for containing the object, a sealable opening in the cassette for ingress and egress of the object, a seal for forming a fluid-tight seal around the opening, input and output ports in the cassette for receiving and exhausting a sterilizing fluid and a sealing check valve in the input and output ports for providing a fluid-tight seal when no connections are made to the input and output ports such that when the object is sterilized within the cassette, the cassette will maintain a sterilized atmosphere for the object until the cassette is opened to allow use of the object.
