  • Patent number: 11284808
Abstract: A device for non-invasive monitoring of intracranial pressure (ICP) may include a sensor, a processor unit, a device for recording electrical activity of the heart, and a device for invasive measurement of arterial blood pressure. The sensor monitors mechanical movements caused by bloodstream dynamics. A mathematical model and a relation between the start of a R-wave and a time delay of a mechanical movement of a patient's head are used to determine the ICP. A device for monitoring patient's vital functions may also measure respiratory and heart rate. The sensor may employ a piezoelectric transducer, which may form a measuring electrode of a measuring capacitor. In addition, a comparator capacitor may be used to increase resistance in changes in measuring conditions. Data from a plurality of measuring devices may be collected and processed in a cascading manner.

  • Publication number: 20220007948
Abstract: A system and method for determining at least one vital sign of a subject includes a plurality of pressure sensors configured to be placed in a vicinity of the subject's body, and configured and operable to sense movements of skin of the subject's body within at least one region on the skin and generate sensing data corresponding to the at least one region. The sensing data comprises a plurality of measured signals being indicative of a common physiological event differentiated in time and intensity from one another and a control unit in data communication with each of pressure sensors of the plurality of pressure sensors.

  • Publication number: 20170258344
Abstract: The device for non-invasive monitoring of intracranial pressure (1) includes a measuring mat (2), processor unit (3), displaying device (6) and a network connector (7). The measuring mat includes the processor unit (3) and sensors, at least one sensor (8) monitoring mechanical movement caused by the bloodstream dynamics. The ICP calculation methods use the Windkessel model and the relationship between the first and second signal, which is related to the reflection of the pulse wave in the head. The method of relative changes of the intracranial pressure is based on an analysis of the bloodstream dynamics using the Moens-Kortweg equation.
