Abstract: A multilayer, flexible transfer strip with an auxiliary carrier and a contact adhesive coating, whereby between the auxiliary carrier and the contact adhesive coating is provided a binder-containing transfer coating, which has a stronger adhesion to the contact adhesive coating than to the auxiliary carrier. The binder-containing transfer coating contains a tear-off aid in the form of a soluble cellulose derivative. On incorporating white pigments into the transfer coating, the transfer strip can be used for correcting written representations or typed characters. Correction takes place rapidly and simply and leads to the formation of a uniform coating with a sharp tear-off.

Abstract: A transfer ribbon for applying a film of a cover material to a substrate, especially a paper substrate provided with markings to be covered or to be provided with a stripe of color from a coloring agent contained in the cover material, has a carrier-foil strip to which a cover layer is applied and an adhesive layer applied to that cover layer. The adhesion between the cover layer and the foil is less than the adhesion between the cover layer and the adhesive layer so that when the adhesive side of the ribbon is pressed against the substrate, the foil can be withdrawn to leave the cover layer, containing the coloring agent, thereon.

Abstract: An alkaline aqueous adhesive of a poly(meth-)acrylate base which contains poly(meth-)acrylate and polyvinylpyrollidone in a total amount of 5 to 40% by weight in the adhesive and in a weight ratio of 10:1 to 1:5. The poly(meth-)acrylate contains free carboxyl groups and has a degree of esterification of 0.55 to 0.9. The adhesive has a wide range of applications and can be transparent.
