  • Publication number: 20210048313
Abstract: Communication between a terminal, such as a consumption meter, installed at a fixed location and a mobile data collector, by way of Wireless M-Bus, via a short-range radio receiver. Data from the terminal is forwarded to the data collector via a bidirectional WPAN interface. The terminal sends a message periodically and unprompted for the communication set-up and subsequently opens a reception window after a period of time. In response, a command or a command sequence is conveyed from the mobile data collector to the receiver and to the terminal in one or more reception windows. The receiver determines the reception time at which the message arrives at the receiver, and the receiver stipulates the time at which the command or command sequence is transmitted onward to the terminal, so that the command or command sequence is received by the terminal within one reception window or multiple reception windows.

  • Publication number: 20210010825
Abstract: A method for wireless transmission of time-critical data, in particular alarm data, from a battery-operated meter, preferably a consumption meter, to a preferably likewise battery-operated wireless communication module uses a short-range wireless standard, in which meter and wireless communication module act as master or slave, or vice versa, meter and wireless communication module have been coupled in advance, meter data are sent from the meter to the wireless communication module over a wireless communication link and the meter data differ from the time-critical data. An active link is established between meter and wireless communication module to send the meter data and/or time-critical data from the meter to the wireless communication module. First advertising events are sent to initiate establishing communication for transmitting the meter data, and second advertising events are sent to initiate establishing communication for transmitting the time-critical data.

  • Patent number: 10863253
Abstract: A method operates a mobile readout system having at least one stationary consumption meter and a mobile readout receiver for reading out the consumption meter as the readout receiver moves past the consumption meter. A two-way communication takes place between the consumption meter and the readout receiver by using the consumption meter to transmit status information stored in the consumption meter, using the readout receiver to receive the status information, using the readout receiver to request additional information from the consumption meter by using a request command, and transmitting encrypted additional information from the consumption meter to the readout receiver. A readout receiver having a receiver for acquiring data from a plurality of spatially distributed consumption meters by using radio transmission according to the method is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20200196033
Abstract: A method for collecting data, preferably in connection with a consumption, a physical or physico-chemical parameter and/or an operating state in a supply network for consumables. A measuring element of a local sensor supplies raw measurement data in the form of elementary measurement units that correspond to a physical or physico-chemical variable or parameter. In order to define the measurement resolution of the sensor, the conditions for generating time stamps are defined in advance using a correlation model, time stamps of successive items of raw measurement data are generated in the sensor on the basis of the correlation model, the time stamps are transmitted so that the raw measurement data acquired by the measuring element is reconstructed on the basis of the time stamps using the correlation model, and analyzed. The transmission is performed with a dynamically adaptable redundancy.

  • Publication number: 20200191607
Abstract: A method collects data, a physical or physico-chemical parameter and/or an operating state, during operation of a sensor. The sensor contains a measuring element which provides elementary measuring units, which correspond to a physical or physico-chemical variable or the physical or physico-chemical parameter, as raw measurement data, and the sensor has a communication device and a memory. To determine the measurement resolution of the sensor, the conditions for generating time stamps are first determined using a correlation model. Time stamps of successive raw measurement data are generated in the sensor on the basis of the correlation model. The time stamps are transmitted with the result that the raw measurement data acquired by the measuring element are reconstructed and evaluated based on the time stamps using the correlation model. Wherein operating state monitoring of the sensor is carried out by comparing current time stamps with historical and/or empirical time stamps.

  • Publication number: 20200191608
Abstract: A method collects data during operation of a local sensor as a component of a supply network for distributing a consumable. The supply network contains a master in communication with the local sensor via a primary communication path. The sensor contains a measuring element which supplies, as raw measurement data, elementary measurement units. A wired primary communication path is provided between the sensor and the master. To define the measurement resolution of the sensor, the conditions for generating time stamps are defined in advance using a correlation model. The time stamps of successive items of raw measurement data are generated in the sensor on the basis of the correlation model. The time stamps are transmitted via the primary communication path so that the raw measurement data acquired by the measuring element is reconstructed using the correlation model on the basis of the time stamps received by the master, and analyzed.

  • Publication number: 20190334816
Abstract: A method operates a data recording system which has a central station, an intermediate station, and a terminal station. The central station and the intermediate station define a tertiary, two-way communication path and the central station and the intermediate station define a primary, two-way communication path via a radio link. A plurality of messages or message parts which have different validity time limits are generated in the central station on the basis of a command, the plurality of message parts which are valid for a limited time are transmitted from the central station to the intermediate station. The validity of the message parts is checked in the intermediate station, and, if a message part is still valid for transmission from the intermediate station to the terminal station, the message part concerned is transmitted within a message from the intermediate station to the terminal station.
