  • Patent number: 6615051
Abstract: A terminal which includes an antenna for transmitting and receiving radio frequency signals, a radio frequency section that amplifies and demodulates a signal received by the antenna into a baseband signal and which modulates and amplifies a baseband signal received by the radio frequency section for transmission via the antenna, a processor to control the operation of the terminal, and memory for storing parameters and programs for use by the processor. The terminal is arranged to store in the memory information relating to a power level used in at least one transmission and, when such information is stored, to use this information to initiate a subsequent transmission.

  • Patent number: 6301475
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless local loop. In particular, the present invention relates to a procedure for limiting the mobility area of a terminal device in a wireless local loop environment. According to the invention, the mobility area (MOA) for the terminal device (5) is defined as a specified geographic area comprising the coverage area of at least one cell (4), and the locking of the terminal device with the local loop and/or channel change by the terminal device is inhibited if the cell from which the terminal device is trying to get locked or to whose channel it is trying to change is outside the mobility area.
