  • Publication number: 20240115278
Abstract: The designs and methods disclosed herein are for a clot retrieval catheter with a large bore shaft and a distal braid-supported tip that is expandable to a diameter larger than the outer sheath through which it is delivered. The distal mouth of the tip can be beveled at an angle inclined from the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The braided tip can be braced with a reinforcing ring which can be welded or overmolded to the distal end of the braid and prevents the tip from collapsing under aspiration forces. The reinforcing ring can have relief features positioned to allow the oblique orientation of the ring to maintain a circular inner channel when the tip is compressed and delivered through a guide sheath and expanded at a target site. The distal tip can be expanded to a profile that is either symmetric or asymmetric with the catheter shaft.

  • Publication number: 20230277181
Abstract: Various systems and methods of deploying an implantable medical device to a target location of a body vessel are disclosed. A delivery system can include a tubular body defining a longitudinal axis. The tubular body can include a lumen extending therethrough, a sidewall surrounding the lumen, and a feature formed from the sidewall. The feature can include an aperture. A pull wire can be extended through the lumen. The delivery system can include an implantable medical device that includes a locking portion. The locking portion can include an opening. The feature can be positioned within the opening of the locking portion. A distal end of the pull wire can pass through the aperture of the feature to secure the implantable medical device to the delivery system.

  • Publication number: 20230181190
Abstract: A detachment system configured to deliver an implantable medical device to a target location of a body vessel includes a generally hollow distal tube and an engagement system. The distal tube can have an inner lumen having a first diameter therethrough and a narrowed portion positioned on at least a portion of the distal tube and having a second diameter lesser than the first diameter. The engagement system can be slidably disposed within the inner lumen and have a detachment feature connected to the implantable medical device and a locking member engaging the detachment feature and interfacing with the narrowed portion of the distal tube. The locking member is configured to deploy the implantable medical device when the locking member is displaced from the narrowed portion of the distal tube.

  • Publication number: 20210145447
Abstract: A catheter-based system is provided having two occlusion elements and a perfusion lumen having a distal opening distal to the occlusion elements and a proximal opening proximal to the occlusion elements. The occlusion elements can be expanded to block blood flow both distal to an intravascular treatment site and to block blood flow proximal to the treatment site, thereby isolating the treatment site. The perfusion lumen can allow blood to flow between the distal and proximal openings, through the treatment site, while remaining isolated from fluids in the treatment site. The system can further include a treatment lumen having a proximal opening accessible by a user to provide aspiration, drug delivery, mechanical device delivery, or other treatment into the vasculature and a distal opening positioned between the two occlusion elements and in communication with fluids at the isolated treatment site.
