  • Publication number: 20060187661
Abstract: The invention relates to a luminaire for indirect lighting. The luminaire comprises a main reflector (5), a counter-reflector (13) with a light emission window (15) in a plane T, the counter-reflector (13) and reflector (5) being oppositely arranged. The main reflector (5), having a reflecting surface built up from a plurality of facets (7) having a curvature (11) in cross-section, is characterized in that the curvature (11) of each respective facet n is such that light coming from a light emission window (15) and hitting said facet n is reflected through an angle of reflection Phi n<=aplpha n?bèta, in which: bèta is a smallest angle of reflection with plane T at which glare is just counteracted, and alpha n is a greatest angle of reflection with plane T at which reflected light just clears the counter-reflector (13).

  • Publication number: 20050254245
Abstract: A luminaire (1) is disclosed, comprising a main reflector (3) with a light emission window (5), and comprising a counter reflector (7) positioned opposite to the main reflector. Means (9) for accommodating at least one electric lamp (11) are provided in the luminaire in between the main reflector and the counter reflector. The counter reflector is provided with a light-transmitting cover (13), acting as an optical waveguide and positioned at a side (15) of the counter reflector facing away from the means (9). The cover is provided with diffusor bodies (21) which scatter the light coupled into the cover and transmitted through the bulk of the cover. Thus a desired distribution and appearance of the optical brightness of the cover is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20050225986
Abstract: A luminaire (1) comprising a concave reflector (2) whose outer edge (4) defines a light emission window (5). The luminaire can accommodate at least two lamps (6, 7). The luminaire further comprises a counter reflector (11), provided opposite the reflector. Light originating from the lamps can only leave the luminaire through the light emission window after passing through a diffusor (17) and/or mixing means (21) which are positioned in a counter light emission window (13) of the counter reflector and on an edge (15) of the counter reflector, respectively. Homogeneously mixed light can thus be obtained from the luminaire when two lamps of different color temperatures are used.
