  • Patent number: 7201496
Abstract: A luminaire has side reflectors having edges defining the width W of a light-emission window, and a plurality of lamellae, which have a concave outer edge in the light-emission window and an inner face remote from that window. In the centers of the lamellae, the lamellae have a distance ho between the outer edge and the inner face that is <0.1 W. As a result, the total surface area of the inner face is relatively small. Internal reflections are thereby reduced, and a higher light output is obtained. If the lamellae are solid and made of plastic, less material is required for their fabrication. In a preferred embodiment, ho<0.05 W, and the inner face may then be convex and even have the same contour as the outer edge. The lamellae louver has lamellae of ho<W, in which W is also the length of the lamellae.

  • Patent number: 7178943
Abstract: A luminaire (1) comprising a concave reflector (2) enclosing a hollow space (3) and defining with an outer edge (4) a light emission window (5). The luminaire can accommodate at least two lamps (6, 7). The luminaire further comprises an optically semi-permeable wall (8) positioned in between the two lamps and dividing the hollow space into chambers (9, 10), and a counter-reflector (11) provided opposite the reflector. Light originating from the lamps can only leave the luminaire through the light emission window after passing through the semi-permeable wall. It is thus possible to obtain homogeneously mixed light as well as to obtain light of equal intensity from the various chambers, also when only one lamp is operating or the two lamps operate at different intensities.

  • Patent number: 7108398
Abstract: A luminaire has a plurality of reflecting lamellae between side reflectors. The lamellae each have an outer edge, an inner surface facing away from the outer edge, and a plane of symmetry through the outer edge and the inner surface. The lamellae have a resin body and a recess in the inner surface, in the plane of symmetry. The recess has a bottom surface transverse to the plane of symmetry and substantially parallel walls along said plane. The recess may widen stepwise from the bottom plane towards the inner surface. The lamellae, as compared with metal lamellae, provide a greater freedom to choose their shape and are less expensive. They nevertheless avoid the occurrence of reflections on the side reflectors, which cause unpleasant bright spots within the cut-off angle of the luminaire. A lamellae grid suitable for the luminaire has strips interconnecting, and integral with, the lamellae.

  • Patent number: 7040781
Abstract: The invention is related to a luminaire for housing a tubular lamp. According to the invention the luminaire has a housing with a light emission window, means for accommodating a tubular lamp in it along the window and in a plane P perpendicular to said window, side reflectores, and lamellae positioned between the reflectors and transverse to the emission window. The lamellae having an outer edge, which is diverging from an inner edge from the plane P towards points A and A? on either side of the plane P. From the point A, A? the outer edge extends towards the nearby side reflector enclosing at point A an angle with the emission window and directed towards the said side reflector.

Abstract: The luminaire has a plurality of reflecting lamellae (10) between side reflectors (1). The lamellae (10) each have an outer edge (11), an inner surface (12) facing away from said edge (11), and a plane of symmetry (S) through the outer edge (11) and the inner surface (12). The lamellae (10) have a resin body and a recess (13) in the inner surface (12), in the plane of symmetry (S). The recess (13) has a bottom surface (14) transverse to the plane of symmetry (S) and substantially parallel walls (15) along said plane. The recess (13) may widen stepwise from the bottom plane (14) towards the inner surface (12). The lamellae (10), as compared with metal lamellae, provide a greater freedom to choose their shape and are less expensive. They nevertheless avoid the occurrence of reflections on the side reflectors, which cause unpleasant bright spots within the cut-off angle of the luminaire.

  • Patent number: 6578983
Abstract: The luminaire for a tubular lamp having a reflector (1) with side portions (10), which have a first convex area (11) with an outer edge (12) in the light emission window (3), and a concave area (13) having an inner edge (15), which joins the convex area (11) in a line of points of inflection (14). Means (20) for accommodating a lamp (L) define the axis (21) of the lamp. The line of inflection points (14) is located at a distance from the light emission window (3), which is 0.30 to 0.40 of the distance from the outer edge (12) to the axis (21). The luminaire produces a light beam allowing a large spacing between equal luminaires while maintaining a uniform illumination. Twin versions of the luminaire allow a ballast (22) to be accommodated between adjacent side portions (10), thereby enabling the use of a slim housing (30).

  • Patent number: 6467934
Abstract: A luminaire has two oppositely positioned rows with reflectors made of separate sectors. The individual reflectors are separated by edge portions, which are positioned transversely to the longitudinal axis of the luminaire and transversely to a light emission window. The edge portions are spaced apart by a distance D, measured transversely to the longitudinal axis, of between 1 and 2 times the diameter of an associated lamp.
