  • Patent number: 7465080
Abstract: An optical waveguide system has a discharge lamp with a reflector and an asymmetrical burner. The reflector has a reflecting surface and a hollow reflector neck. The asymmetrical burner is partly arranged in the hollow reflector neck, without making contact with it. The shape and the size of the inner contour of the reflecting surface of the reflector corresponds substantially to the contour of the asymmetrical burner, and the asymmetrical burner is centrally located in the reflector.

  • Patent number: 7083306
Abstract: The invention relates to a discharge lamp with a reflector (1) and an asymmetrical burner, which reflector (1) comprises at least a reflecting surface (3) and a hollow reflector neck (4), while the asymmetrical burner is partly arranged in said hollow reflector neck (4) without making contact therewith, wherein the shape and the size of the inner contour (6) of the reflecting surface (3) of the reflector (1) corresponds substantially to the contour of the asymmetrical burner, and the asymmetrical burner is centrally located in the reflector (1).

  • Patent number: 6459040
Abstract: A housing has an electric cable passing through an electromagnetic interference shielding wall. The wall has an edge and a recess bordering the edge. When the cable is introduced into the recess the cable is electrically connected to the shielding through a contact in or adjacent the recess, and a fastening element on the cable mates with a receiving element on the wall adjacent the recess. The fastening and receiving elements cooperate to absorb any mechanical pull loads on the cable without disturbing the electrical connection to the shielding.

  • Publication number: 20010002622
Abstract: A system (1) is provided which comprises a housing (2) and an electric cable (3), which housing (2) has an EMC shielding wall (4) with an edge (5). The wall (4) is provided with a recess (7) which borders the edge (5). The electric cable (3) is electrically connected to the EMC shielding wall (4) of the housing (2) at the recess (7) via contacting means (8). Means (9, 10) are provided substantially at the same recess (7) for absorbing any mechanical pull loads on the electric cable (3). Thus a compact, reliable, and safe EMC shielding system (1) is provided.

  • Patent number: 5934791
Abstract: An electric lamp according to the invention comprises a lamp vessel (10) which is closed in a gastight manner, which has an end portion (11), and which surrounds a light source (12). The lamp vessel supports a cylindrical collar (30) with an axis (31) at its end portion (11). One or several projections (33a, 33b, 33c) of a first coupling member (30) which each grip into a respective recess (41a, 41c) of a second coupling member (40) couple the collar (30) to a mounting member (40) for fastening the lamp to a carrier. At least one of the coupling members (30) is made of an elastic material.

  • Patent number: 5903109
Abstract: An electrodeless low-pressure discharge lamp according to the invention has a lamp vessel (1) which is closed in a gastight manner, which contains an ionizable filling, and which has a cavity (10). In the cavity (10) an elongate coil (2) is positioned with a primary and a secondary winding (21, 22, respectively) of an electrical conductor (20) around a coil former (3) which has a tip (30) which points into the cavity (10). The electrical conductor (20) from which the secondary winding (22) is formed extends from a first end (22a) of the secondary winding (22) facing the tip (30) into a recess (32) of the tip (30) of the coil former (3) and is clamped therein. The first end (22a) of the secondary winding (22) can be easily fastened in this manner.

  • Patent number: 5804911
Abstract: An electrodeless low-pressure discharge lamp according to the invention is provided with a lamp vessel which is closed in a gastight manner and which has an ionizable filling. The lamp vessel has an end portion with a cavity in which an electric coil is accommodated. The cavity further contains a heat conductor which extends to outside the cavity and has a flange there with an axis, a circumference, a surface which faces away from the lamp vessel and a surface which faces the lamp vessel. A mounting member is connected to the lamp vessel and fastened against the flange. The mounting member is provided with at least one hook which points radially inwards and which cooperates with a recess in the surface of the flange which faces away from the lamp vessel. The recess issues into an axial groove at the circumference of the flange extending into the surface facing the lamp vessel. This construction renders possible a quick assembly of the mounting member with the flange.
