  • Patent number: 4718612
Abstract: A maize chopper has a casing supported by a frame and maize-stalks are supplied to the casing. A chopping wheel has a supporting plate in the casing and rotatable around an axis of rotation and cutting elements are fixed to said supporting plate. Between the casing and a discharge duct joined to the casing brush cutters are arranged in a discharge passage for material discharged by the chopping wheel. Blades are provided at the side of the supporting plate of the chopping wheel turned away from the cutting elements and/or to the brush cutters. The width of the brush cutters, measured in the direction of the axes of rotation of the brush cutters, is smaller than the width of the discharge passage measured in the same direction such that in operation air displaced by the blades can flow beside the brush cutters through the discharge passage to the discharge duct to discharge material from the chopping wheel.

  • Patent number: 4686818
Abstract: The invention relates to a mowing machine comprising a frame and at least four cutting members rotatable about upwardly extending rotary axes and being each provided with cutters and drums located above said cutters, the cutting members being driven so that during operation neighboring drums rotate in opposite senses, whereby the diameters of the circles described by the ends of the cutters of the outermost cutting members during operation are larger than those of the intermediate cutting members.

  • Patent number: 4525990
Abstract: A device for mowing crop comprising a cutting member to be rotated about an upwardly extending rotary axis and supporting at least one upwardly extending pin located near the outer circumference of the cutting member, said pin being guarded in the cutting member with the aid of a pin-engaging end of a spring, while a cutting knife is freely rotatable about said pin whereby the end of the spring engaging the pin is slidably arranged in a recess in the pin, whereas the end of the spring remote from the pin is guarded against shifting transversely of the longititudinal axis of the pin with the aid of parts of the cutting member at least partly surrounding the end concerned and being loosely in engagement with the spring.

  • Patent number: 4407114
Abstract: An agricultural implement, particularly a pick-up wagon, comprises a pick-up member for picking up crop lying on the ground, an advance mechanism located behind the pick-up member, viewed in the intended direction of displacement of the crop and stationary cutters arranged behind the advance mechanism, between which stationary cutters the crop can be passed on with the aid of the advance mechanism, whereby the advance mechanism comprises a plurality of additional cutters adapted to rotate about a rotary axis during operation so that these rotating cutters displace the crop in the direction towards the stationary cutters and fingers adapted to reciprocate during operation and pushing the crop also in the direction towards the stationary cutters during operation, the arrangement being such that the rotating cutters move in between the reciprocating fingers.

  • Patent number: 4321782
Abstract: A crop crushing device has two crushing members rotating about substantially parallel rotary axes. One crushing member has a plurality of fillets extending substantially in the direction of the length of the crushing member and arranged at equal intervals around the circumference of this crushing member. The other crushing member is provided with flexible wings extending outwardly away from the rotary axis.

  • Patent number: 4304087
Abstract: An agricultural implement has a first frame portion for coupling to a tractor and a second frame portion has one end pivotally connected to the first frame portion. The pivotal connection is such that the second frame portion will pivot with respect to the first frame portion only when a force exerted on the second frame portion exceeds a pre-determined magnitude. A carrier, upon which are mounted working tools, is pivotally connected to the other end of the second frame portion and there is a spring device between the carrier and the second frame portion. This spring device exerts such a force that the outer end portion of the carrier can only pivot in the direction of normal operation of the implement.

  • Patent number: 4253294
Abstract: A mowing machine has a plurality of cutting members rotatably supported on a portion of the frame disposed beneath the cutting members and extending transversely to the direction of travel of the mowing machine during operation. The cutting members are driven by means of a drive shaft extending above the cutting members and journalled in the frame to be coupled to a tractor power take-off shaft. The drive shaft is directly coupled through transmission means with shafts upon which are mounted the two outermost cutting members.

  • Patent number: 4206586
Abstract: A mowing machine has two or more cutting members adapted to rotate about a vertical axis and each provided at the bottom with an annular skirt having cutting knives mounted thereon. Each skirt has a series of upwardly inclined sectors arranged circumferentially therearound. The mowing machine may also have an adjustable cutting height which is achieved by providing each upwardly inclined sector of the annular skirt with a number of circumferentially spaced knife fastening members. Due to the inclination of an annular collar these cutter fastening members are located at relatively different heights. The height of the cut may be determined by selecting the fastening members to which the cutting knives are to be attached.

  • Patent number: 4128987
Abstract: In a haymaking machine having two staggered rotors with substantially vertical axes, the tine groups on the circumference of the rotors each comprise one or more fixed upper tines and one lower tine which can yield upwardly. Preferably, the number of tine groups of the forward rotor is one half the number of tine groups of the rearward rotor and there is a single, upwardly yielding tine between every two successive tine groups of the forward rotor. Preferably, the tines extend through slots in a closed cap.
