  • Patent number: 6016130
Abstract: An antenna structure for two frequency ranges including two antenna elements. The first antenna element is a cylindrical coil conductor (2) forming a helical antenna and includes in the direction of its longitudinal axis, a first portion (2a) and a second portion (2b). The second antenna element (3; 6) is connected to the cylindrical coil conductor by a fixed connection at a junction (2c) lying between the first and second portions of the first antenna element. The second antenna element may be for example, a filamentous conductor (5a), a conductive pattern (5) formed on the surface of an insulating plate (3), or a small-diameter helical antenna (6). The first operating frequency is dependent on the combined electrical length of the portions of the first antenna element while the second operating frequency is dependent on the combined electrical length of the lower part of the first antenna element and the second antenna element.

  • Patent number: 6014106
Abstract: A radiofrequency antenna including a connector (3; 10) for mechanically and electrically connecting the antenna to the radio set and a fat monopole radiator (2; 11) forming a substantially integrated piece (1). The antenna may comprise a second antenna element (5), which is movable in relation to the integrated piece formed by the connector and the fat monopole radiator. The second antenna element is preferably a whip component, for which there is an axial aperture (7) defined in the connector and in the fat monopole radiator. The whip component may be locked in the upper position at different points (8, 8') in the aperture.

  • Patent number: 5990848
Abstract: The invention relates to a particular structure of high-frequency antenna, which comprises a support element (1) provided with a cylindrical coil conductor which forms a helix (2). On the support element (1) there is formed, for example by means of a conductive coating, the electrical parts of the antenna, such as the attachment points (3b) for the helix and for other parts, such as feeder lines (4), radiators (5) or impedance matching devices. By varying the number and size of the helices (2), the number and form of the feeder lines (4) and radiators (5) and the quality of any impedance matching devices, it is possible without difficulty to obtain a very wide choice of different antenna structures. The feeder lines and radiators extend, at least in part, within the helix.

  • Patent number: 5905475
Abstract: A helical mobile phone antenna with a support part (7), a connector (9) connected to the helix, and a protecting case (6) surrounding the helix and the support part. The support part and the connector part are integrally formed, whereby a weak joint between them is eliminated. The lower end of the connector may have an electrically conducting sleeve (5) and is preferably threaded so the antenna can be mounted. The support part (7) and the connector part (9) are molded into an integral body (5), preferably so that the support part surrounds the threaded part of the helix (2), and that the connector part (4) surrounds with a clearance the leg part (3) of the helix. An electrically conducting cylindrical sleeve (5) is connected to the lower end of the connector part, preferably so that the sleeve is arranged in the injection mold, and is fastened to the connector part during molding. Connecting threads (10) for the antenna are formed in the peripheral surface of the connector part or the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5742259
Abstract: The invention relates to the structure and manufacturing method of a helix antenna suitable for use in mobile phones and other radio devices. The helix part of the antenna is made of a resilient material, like stainless spring steel wire, and its lower part is wound into a support coil more dense than the rest of the helix. The antenna includes a connector part through which it is electrically and mechanically connected to a radio device. The upper end of the connector part is formed such that when the helix part is fitted onto it, the support coil will undergo a change of form which generates a spring force that keeps the helix electrically and mechanically connected to the connector part. An elastic protective material is fitted onto the helix, attached by melting to a special joint surface in the connector part.

  • Patent number: 5734351
Abstract: The invention relates to a double-action, two-piece antenna structure whose first antenna part, preferably a helix antenna (1), is fixedly connected to the antenna port of a radio communications set, and the second antenna port, preferably a rod antenna (2), is movable with respect to the first antenna part. In an active position, the second antenna part (2) is coupled to the first antenna part (1), forming a serial connection whose electrical length is as great as or greater than the electrical length of the first antenna part alone.
