Publication number: 20230114269Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for blood oxygen measurement are described. A method may include receiving, via a wearable device, a first photoplethysmogram (PPG) signal for a user acquired during a time interval using a first set of PPG sensors, and receiving a second PPG signal for the user acquired during the time interval using a second set of PPG sensors that are different from the first set of PPG sensors. The method may include comparing the first PPG signal and the second PPG signal, and determining one or more blood oxygen saturation metrics for the user during the time interval based on the comparison of the first PPG signal and the second PPG signal. The method may include causing a graphical user interface (GUI) to display an indication of the one or more blood oxygen saturation metrics.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2022Publication date: April 13, 2023Inventors: Olli Petteri Heikkinen, Roosa Annikki Wederhorn, Xi Zhang, Mikko Pellervo Tuohimaa, Tero Juhani Vallius, Jussi Petteri Järvelä, Markku Koskela, Juha-Pekka Syrjälä, Teemu Juahni Haverinen, Kaisa Helena Tarvainen, Tuomas Viljami Kenttä

Patent number: 11152930Abstract: The present invention introduces an arrangement for enhancing the performance of an electronic circuit comprising a phototransistor (Q). Either a common-collector or a common-emitter connected phototransistor (Q) has a main resistor (RL), and at least one external bias resistors (RL2, RL3, RL4), each in parallel to one another. The microcontroller may directly control the voltage outputs or act via respective switches (S1, S2) regarding each respective resistor. When the electronic circuit with the phototransistor (Q) is switched on, at least one of the external bias resistors (RL2, RL3, RL4) are switched on. The voltage output rise time is short, and when the bias has been set, the external bias resistor(s) are disconnected functionally. This means that during the actual measurement with the electric circuit, only the main resistor (RL) is used in the connection.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2019Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: Oura Health OyInventors: Petteri Järvelä, Tero Vallius
