  • Patent number: 9369498
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for controlling a processing load in a packet data network, wherein a load control information is set in a predetermined field of a message. The load control information is then checked on the routing path of the message and a processing resource of the packet data network is selected in response to the result of checking step. Thereby, load balancing information can be provided at the network to thereby provide an efficient balancing and load sharing function without heavy string comparisons and data base queries.

  • Patent number: 8103243
Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for handling a session setup procedure initiated by an user equipment for establishing a session of a specific type to a called entity, wherein a session setup request sent to a network entity for establishing the requested session, includes location information and an identifier for identifying the called entity. A database is provided which stores a list of location information and associated identifiers. The network entity accesses this database, wherein, when detecting that the identifier represents a session of the specific type in an area represented by the location information, the session set-up is continued in a manner appropriate for a session of the specific type.

  • Patent number: 7602762
Abstract: The invention proposes a network system comprising a first network element (2) and at least a second network element (3), the second network element being adapted to operate in at least two different modes, wherein the first network element (2) is adapted to send a message to the second network element, and the second network element (3) is adapted to set the mode in response to information included in the message and indicating whether a particular procedure is to be performed and/or has been performed. Thus, the second network element sets its mode dependent on whether a procedure like processing of a location request has to be performed or has not to be performed, or, whether a procedure has been performed or not. The network elements can be Call State Control Functions (CSCF).

  • Patent number: 7583647
Abstract: A controller is configured for controlling the number of requests served by a server. The controller includes a pool for holding M tokens an input for providing tokens to the pool, and an output for removing tokens from the pool. The controller is configured such that a server request requiring at least one token to be handled, is only handled if the pool contains a required number of tokens for the request and the required number of tokens is removed via the output when the server request is to be handled by the server.

  • Patent number: 7154907
Abstract: A method and system for resetting nodes in a communication system that include at least a first node and a second node. The establishment for communication settings is initiated between the first node and the second node. At least part of communications settings is stored in the first node. An indication is sent from the second node to the first node to reset the stored communication settings in the first node. The communication settings are reset in the first node.

  • Patent number: 7085565
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing local subscriber- and subscriber-group specific services are provided. According to one embodiment, the method includes the steps of defining a mobile subscriber's local parameters of a cell and providing the mobile subscriber's local parameters and local parameters of the cell to the unit controlling local operation of a mobile station. The method also includes the steps of comparing the mobile subscriber's local parameters with the local parameters of the cell and controlling the mobile subscriber's local operation on the basis of compatibility of the local parameters.
