  • Patent number: 9874053
Abstract: An insulation system including a first retention member having a first channel, a second retention member having a second channel, and a thermal bridge. The thermal bridge includes a first finger and a second finger. The first finger is received into the first channel and the second finger is received into the second channel. The system further includes a first locking tab associated with the first channel for securing the first finger and a second locking tab associated with the second channel for securing the second finger. The thermal bridge substantially reduces conductive heat transfer between the first retention member and the second retention member.

  • Patent number: 9464432
Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention relates to a plug of the type utilized for sealing a junction between a horizontal member and a vertical mullion of a curtain wall. The plug may include a plug body. The plug body may include a front body portion, a rear body portion, a left body portion, a right body portion, a top surface disposed between the left body portion, the right body portion, the front body portion, and the rear body portion. A rabbet is disposed across the front body portion. A spacer flange extends from the front body portion. A plurality of chamfers are disposed between the top surface and the left body portion, the right body portion, and the rear body portions. The plug is sized to occupy a gap formed in the junction between the horizontal member and the vertical mullion of the curtain wall. The rabbet and the plurality of chamfers form a plurality of large crevices between the plug, the horizontal member, and the vertical mullion. The large crevices allow penetration of a sealant therein.

  • Patent number: 9422959
Abstract: A structural component interconnect assembly includes a first component adapted for interconnection with a second component. A connection component is adapted for securing the first component and the second component together in a secured interconnection. The connection component includes at least two flanges spaced from each other by a first distance. The first component includes a mating surface having at least two slots formed therein and spaced one from another by the first distance. The second component includes a first surface and a second surface spaced one from the other by a distance on the order of the first distance. Engagement of the at least two flanges, via the at least two slots, with the first surface and the second surface secures the first component to the second component.

  • Patent number: 8007743
Abstract: A laboratory device design particularly for a multiplate format that includes a manifold wherein the position of the plate is not a function of gasket compression or vacuum rate applied. In one embodiment, the device has a modular design, wherein one or more removable inserts, preferably with different functionalities can be positioned between a base component and a collar component. The particular insert(s) chosen depend on the desired sample preparation or assay to be carried out. The insert(s) are stacked and are positioned between the base and collar as a unit, so that the stack within the manifold does not move during evacuation of the vacuum chamber. The consistent position of the insert(s) facilitates using vacuum sample processing with automated liquid handlers.

  • Patent number: 7099037
Abstract: A method and a computer data signal including instructions for processing printed unit orders for printing on printers adapted for printing N pages across a print web. The orders are grouped based on page type (e.g., size, thickness, color) and binding type into print batches. These print batches are sorted, processed and then sent to the printer. Printed units may be organized with N single printed units printed in parallel across the web, a single printed unit sorted into N sections printed in parallel across all of the webs, or in super batches including multiple printed units, with N super batches printed in parallel across the web.

  • Patent number: 6334142
Abstract: To supply messages to an audience of Internet users, the messages are initially stored on an Internet server which is accessible by a group of Internet clients operated by Internet users, when a message is received at the server, it includes an information part and a data part. The data part includes at least one identifier specifying the intended audience of the message. In the server, the information part of the message is stored as an HTML file in a first store and the URL of the file containing the information part of the message together with the identifier or identifiers of the intended audience are stored in a second store. To view messages intended for a particular user on one of the clients, the client transmits requests automatically at periodic intervals to the server for new messages intended for the user. In response to each request, the server scans the fields in the second store to compile a list of URLs of messages intended for the user.
