  • Publication number: 20080101595
Abstract: An error correction system and method for a mobile terminal is provided that are capable of correcting transmission packet errors. The error correction method for a mobile communication system including at least one mobile terminal receiving ciphered text from a network includes generating an output by applying an input parameter containing an overflow counter calculated by the mobile terminal to a predetermined algorithm; deciphering the ciphered text using the output to recover a clear text; updating the overflow counter if the ciphered text is not successfully deciphered; regenerating the output using the updated overflow counter; and recovering the clear text using the regenerated output with the ciphered text.

  • Patent number: 7272318
Abstract: A passive optical network (PON) for providing a large amount of data at high speed to subscribers is provided. In particular, a PON employing a multi-carrier CDMA in which a CDMA method is applied for an upstream signal is provided. The PON employing a multi-carrier CDMA includes: optical network terminals (ONTs) for transmitting CDMA-based data using multiple carriers to an optical line terminal (OLT) and for receiving Ethernet-based data transmitted from the OLT; the OLT for transforming CDMA-based data received from the ONT into Ethernet-based data, for transmitting the Ethernet-based data to a higher network, and for transmitting Ethernet-based date to the ONTs; and an optical coupler for coupling CDMA-based optical signals transmitted from the ONTs, for transmitting the coupled optical signal to the OLT, and for distributing an Ethernet-based optical signal transmitted from the OLT to the ONTs.

  • Publication number: 20070165825
Abstract: A call processing system and method are based on a dual mode terminal. The call processing system comprises: a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) which, when a call is incoming to an extension through a first network, checks registration information based on a link test message transmitted periodically from a destination terminal having a number of the extension to which the call is incoming, and processes the incoming call in real time; and a dual mode terminal which is interconnected to an extension of the PBX, operates in at least one of a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) mode and a wireless communication mode, and processes the incoming call.

  • Publication number: 20070030407
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) includes a gate line, a data line, and a pixel electrode including first and second sub-pixel electrodes to which different voltages are applied. A thin film transistor is coupled with the gate line and the data line to apply a voltage to the pixel electrode, and a storage electrode partially overlaps with the first and second sub-pixel electrodes. The first sub-pixel electrode is arranged on all but one side of the second sub-pixel electrode, portions of a first side of the storage electrode overlap with the boundaries of the first and second sub-pixel electrodes, portions of a second side of the storage electrode protrude and partially overlap with the second sub-pixel electrode, and the storage electrode comprises a storage electrode extension, which protrudes from the second side of the storage electrode across the first sub-pixel electrode and overlaps with the second sub-pixel electrode.
