  • Publication number: 20210292193
Abstract: There is described a water purifying apparatus comprising: (i) at least one water inlet; (ii) an ultra-violet (UVC) radiation chamber connected to the water inlet(s); (iii) a plurality of UVC light emitting diodes (UVC-LEDs) for the emission of UVC light into the radiation chamber; (iv) a control to operate UVC-LEDs in use, and (v) at least one UVC-LED aging monitor to provide feedback to the control.

  • Publication number: 20090184053
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a water treatment apparatus having one or more chambers comprising the step of: filling at least one chamber with ion exchanger resin; wherein at least one ion exchanger resin is dry. Preferably, the dry ion exchange resin has a water content of 0-40 wt %, preferably 0-20 wt %, and more preferably 0-10 wt %, such that the volume of the dry ion exchange resin is 25-50 vol % less than the volume of the same ion exchange resin in a moist or wetted form. One form of suitable water treatment apparatus is an EDI apparatus comprising a plurality of chambers to form a stack, for the purification of the water. The present invention provides an easier method of filling of chambers compared with the use of wetted or moist resins, and ‘over filling’ of the cells of water treatment apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7279083
Abstract: An electrodeionisation apparatus comprising, successively: means defining an anode chamber, means defining one or more anion exchange chambers, means defining one or more mixed exchange chambers, means defining one or more cation exchange chambers, and means defining a cathode chamber, the anion, mixed and cation exchange chambers providing a flow path for water to be purified, is described. The present invention incorporates advantages of both separate resin bed and mixed resin bed technology.

  • Patent number: 7222704
Abstract: A selective damping apparatus includes at least one sensor for detecting, and producing signals indicative of at least the frequency and amplitude of vibrations of a first structural component (a “resonant structure”) having one or more resonant frequencies. At least one vibration generator is provided for generating damping vibrations for application to the resonant structure, as well as a controller for controlling the operation of the vibration generator in delayed response to the signals produced by the at least one sensor. The at least one sensor and at least one vibration generator are adapted to cooperate with a second structural component (a “non-resonant structure”) that is relatively insensitive to the resonant frequencies of the resonant structure. The nonresonant structure is connected or coupled to the resonant structure either directly or indirectly, via one or more intermediate structural components.

  • Publication number: 20050276924
Abstract: A formulation for application to a substrate including a mixture of a liquid having a first viscosity and an amine-acid adduct. The mixture has a second viscosity greater than the first viscosity. The amine-acid adduct is evaporative and substantially completely removed from the mixture in a functionally dry state as applied as a deposit on the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050126849
Abstract: Selective damping apparatus comprises at least one sensor (7) for detecting, and producing signals indicative of at least the frequency and amplitude of vibrations of a first structural component (“the resonant structure”) (6) having one or more resonant frequencies, at least one vibration generator (40) for generating damping vibrations for application to the resonant structure, a controller (8) for controlling the operation of the vibration generator (40) in delayed response to the signals produced by the at least one sensor (7), and wherein at least one of said at least one sensor (7) and of said at least one vibration generator (40) is adapted to operate in co-operation with a second structural component (“the non-resonant structure”) (2) relatively insensitive to the resonant frequencies of the resonant structure (6) and connected or coupled to said resonant structure (6) either directly or indirectly via one or more intermediate structural components.

  • Publication number: 20050003167
Abstract: A multilayer composite comprises a printable facestock with a carrier sheet separably laminated directly to its top surface. The facestock is a dimensionally unstable and/or low flexural stiffness transparent film having a thickness not greater than about 4.0 mils. In subsequent processing, graphics are printed on the bottom surface of the facestock followed by the application of pressure sensitive adhesive and a release liner. The liner is removable, allowing the composite to be adhered to a substrate, with the graphics remaining beneath and protected by the facestock. The carrier sheet is separable from the top surface of the facestock, either before or following removal of the release liner.

  • Publication number: 20040185235
Abstract: A thermally shrinkable pressure sensitive label has mutually perpendicular dimensions and comprises a composite of multiple layers. The shrink characteristics of the label are governed by a film component of the composite that is dimensionally stable at temperatures below an onset temperature, and that is thermally shrinkable when heated to temperatures at or above the onset temperature. Shrinkage caused by heating is greater in one as compared to the other of the mutually perpendicular dimensions.
