Publication number: 20240075636Abstract: A tool interchange for a submersible remote operated vehicle (ROV) arm includes a first interchange body that affixes to an ROV arm. A second interchange body is carried by the first interchange body to rotate on a rotation axis. The second interchange body includes a tool mount actuable between gripping an ROV tool to the second interchange body and releasing the ROV tool from the second interchange body. An inductive power coupling part is provided in the tool mount. The inductive power coupling part is presented outwardly in the tool mount opposite the first interchange body, resides on the rotation axis and is fixed with respect to the first interchange body while the second interchange body rotates. The inductive power coupling part is adapted to inductively communicate power with a corresponding inductor power coupling part of the ROV tool when the ROV tool is docked in the tool mount.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Richard Brian Correll, William P. Publication number: 20240073486Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for personalizing video content using information associated with a viewer of the video content. An indication is received from a host device that dynamic user background replacement is to be used for the video content. An indication is then received of one or more aspects of the video content to be personalized. Potential viewers of the video content are identified. Once identified, a database is queried for personalized information associated with a first viewer of the potential viewers of the video content. Based on the personalized information associated with the first viewer, an original video content version of the video content is modified to generate a first video content version of the video content.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2022Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Peter Philip Myron, Michael John Mitchell

Patent number: 7888620Abstract: A method of and system for forming two laser processing beams with controlled stability at a target specimen work surface includes first and second mutually coherent laser beams propagating along separate first and second beam paths that are combined to perform an optical property adjustment. The combined laser beams are separated into third and fourth laser beams propagating along separate beam paths and including respective third and fourth main beam components, and one of the third and fourth laser beams contributes a leakage component that copropagates in mutual temporal coherence with the main beam component of the other of the third and fourth laser beams. An effect of mutual temporal coherence of the leakage component and the other main beam component with which the leakage component copropagates is reduced through acousto-optic modulation frequency shifts or through incorporation of an optical path length difference in the two beams.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2006Date of Patent: February 15, 2011Assignee: Electro Scientific Industries, Inc.Inventors: Douglas Earl Holmgren, Ho Wai Lo, Philip Mitchell Conklin

Publication number: 20060257699Abstract: A fuel cell assembly supplies water and water vapour by-product to a cooling water circuit delivered to a thermal storage tank from which it can be recycled to the fuel cell stack as direct input to the membrane electrode assemblies, for use as fuel/oxidant preheat and/or direct water injection to the membrane electrode assembly. The purity of water delivered to the membrane is thereby assured. The thermal storage tank allows for a decoupling of the thermal and electrical loads on the fuel cell stack in a combined heat and electrical power delivery unit. Under low external electrical loads, the fuel cell stack and its cooling circuit may be used at high capacity to provide hot water.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2003Publication date: November 16, 2006Inventors: Peter Hood, Philip Mitchell, Paul Adcock, Jonathan Cole

Publication number: 20050106445Abstract: A fuel cell having an anode, a cathode and an ion exchange membrane is supplied by hydrogen fuel through an anode fuel delivery conduit. A recirculation loop is provided to recycle gases in the fuel delivery conduit to a mixing point where a controlled flow rate of fuel is supplied and mixed therewith. Any oxidant species remaining in the fuel delivery conduit are thereby combusted in a controlled manner to avoid damage to the fuel cell membrane-electrode assembly. Small quantities of oxidant may be deliberately introduced into the fuel delivery conduit to generate water vapour and heat to pre-condition the fuel delivered to the anode. Such preconditioning assists in hydration control of the membrane, and temperature control of the membrane-electrode assembly for optimum fuel cell performance.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2003Publication date: May 19, 2005Inventors: Philip Mitchell, Paul Adcock

Publication number: 20050048351Abstract: A bipolar fluid flow flied plate for a fuel cell delivers fuel to a porous anode electrode and oxidant to an adjacent porous cathode electrode. The flow field plate comprises an electrically conductive, non-porous sheet into which fluid flow conduits are formed. A first fluid flow channel is patterned into a first face of the sheet and a second fluid flow channel patterned into the opposite face of the sheet. The pattern of the first channel comprises an interdigitated comb that co-operates with a pattern of the second channel comprising a continous serpentine path, so that no portion of the first channel directly overlies the pattern of the second channel over a substantial active area of the sheet. This allows the channels to be formed with combined depths that exceed the total plate thickness, thereby increasing fluid flow volumes.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2002Publication date: March 3, 2005Inventors: Peter Hood, Philip Mitchell, Paul Adcock, Simone Foster

Patent number: 5407716Abstract: A method of masking an area of a surface using a length of flexible foam strip having a layer of adhesive applied on opposite sides of the strip. The strip is attached to the surface by one of the layers of adhesive and a sheet of material is attached to the opposite side of the strip by the other of the layers of adhesive. The strip and sheet then isolate the area of the surface from contiguous areas of the surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1993Date of Patent: April 18, 1995Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Philip A.
