  • Publication number: 20080031968
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods of treating a human for a variety of conditions by administering an agonist of the G protein coupled receptor TGR5. In addition, the invention includes methods for determining whether a test compound is likely to be effective in treating one of these conditions by assaying it for its ability to raise intracellular iodothyronine deiodinase levels or for its ability to bind to and activate TGR5.

  • Publication number: 20020096812
Abstract: Vice comprising a moveable jaw mounted on a screw-threaded main vice screw which is axially fixed but rotatable within said moveable jaw, a fixed jaw mounted on the main vice screw, the jaws being moveable toward or away from one another upon rotation of the main vice screw, the vice further comprising a screw-threaded quick release mechanism moveable between a closed position in which the screw-thread of the quick release mechanism engages the screw-thread of the main vice screw and an open position in which the screw-thread of the quick release mechanism is disengaged from the main vice screw enabling the main vice screw to be moved freely axially with respect to the fixed jaw, the movement between the closed and open positions being effected automatically upon rotation of the main vice screw.

  • Publication number: 20020043752
Abstract: A bench vice comprises a fixed jaw and a moveable jaw, both sliding on a slide bar. The jaws are made of plastics material and are supported against pressures imposed by the slide by pins retained in the jaws. One of the pins on the fixed jaw is knurled to provide a jamming function against the slide. The moveable jaw has a knob screwed onto a block fixed on the slide, so that rotation of the knob advances the moveable jaw along the slide, or releases it.

  • Patent number: 4882846
Abstract: A stair building template comprises a plurality of rectangular-shaped horizontal members and a plurality of rectangular-shaped vertical members. Connectors are provided which each hold a horizontal member in a right-angled relationship with a vertical member and each vertical and horizontal member is associated with at least one connector. The horizontal and vertical members slide along their mutual connector when the connector is loosened, but are held fixed with respect to each other when the connector is tightened. Manipulation of the connectors permits the framing of the horizontal and vertical members into a configuration with the desired dimensions for the proposed staircase.
