  • Publication number: 20130281746
Abstract: Methods for converting petroleum based oil into fuel generally include forming a conversion mixture of an alcohol and a base, and adding the conversion mixture to petroleum based oil, such as used motor oil, to form a reaction mixture. The methods can also include adding a high nitrate compound and an amino acid to the reaction mixture and ozonizing the reaction mixture. The result of the methods can include a three phase system in which the bottom phase is asphalt oil, the middle phase is diesel fuel or jet fuel, and the top phase is sulfuric acid. The three phases can be separated to obtain the final diesel fuel or jet fuel product.

  • Publication number: 20100301178
Abstract: This invention allows attachment of strut channels 2, pipes, conduit, and mounting of equipment to the interior of buildings and other structures. Attachment to structures such as I-Beams, channels, structural angles, purlins and truss structures are improved. Extended use of self tapping screws 28 and commonly used metal strapping are enabled. The use of dimpled holes 7 facilitate insertion of self tapping screws 28 thus expanding their function. Tab cut outs 6 in attachment hardware that allow strapping to pass and hook provide new and efficient methods for using standard strapping. New mounting hardware in combination with beam clamps, another invention of mine, use the beam clamps along with appropriate accessories, which are part of that invention, to provide new methods of attachment. Strut channels 2 are changed to integrate the use of these improvements.

  • Publication number: 20100303543
Abstract: A wedge clamp providing for a positive attachment to structural angles, I-beams, H-beams, T-bars, plates, boards, conventional angles, bulb angles, channels, plates and other similar structural shapes comprises a clamp wedge and body that capture objects with two opposing planar surfaces securing the objects against each other using a bolt with nut or other means to engage the threads of the bolt to pull the wedge through the body and causing the objects being attached together to be squeezed together. The wedge clamp is also used to support other members using a bolt or threaded rod attached to the wedge clamp which in this case normally attaches to a single flange of the structure.

  • Publication number: 20100299891
Abstract: A Beam Clamp comprised of a pair of similar opposing clamp bodies (1) that preferably has a cross section on the interior surface of each clamp body shaped generally like a “question mark” (?) and is arranged in an assembly where the opposing clamp bodies (1) generally mirror each other where the open portion of each faces each other. The two clamp bodies (1) are connected and pulled toward each other with a fastener such as a bolt (7). The clamp bodies (1) capture a member (16) or (17) such as a pipe or channel and a portion of a structure member (12). A structure flange (13) of a structure member (12) such as an I-Beam is captured with the clamp bodies (1) hooking over opposite edges of the structure flange (13) to leverage and secure the structure member (12), the round member (16) or rectangular members (17) and the 2 clamp bodies (1) together.

  • Publication number: 20090022362
Abstract: A method for verification of alarms is disclosed. The method involves receiving an alarm signal trigger associated with an alarm signal, receiving video data from a premise associated with the alarm signal, rapidly analyzing the video data to test for the existence a significant event, and when a significant event exists, sending a representation of a segment of interest of the video data, the segment of interest being associated with the significant event, to a user.

  • Patent number: 7131425
Abstract: A method and control system to accomplish knock control on a multi-cylinder spark-ignition internal combustion engine equipped variable cam phasing system, comprising monitoring cam position, crankshaft position, and, engine knock signal, determining cam position relative to crankshaft position, and implementing either a global cylinder knock control strategy or an individual cylinder knock control strategy, based upon whether the determined cam position relative to crankshaft position is near a default position, the determined cam position indicates the variable cam phasing system is operating in a transient mode, or, the determined cam position relative to crankshaft position is substantially different from the default position.

  • Publication number: 20060115578
Abstract: New baffles and methods of using these baffles are provided. The baffles comprise a body having an edge wall configured to direct the flow of a composition against a substrate (e.g., silicon wafer) edge. The edge wall comprises a vertical surface, a curved sidewall coupled to the vertical surface, and a lip coupled to the curved sidewall. A preferred baffle is annular in shape and formed from a synthetic resinous composition. Even more preferably, the baffle is not formed of a metal. The inventive methods comprise positioning the baffle adjacent a substrate during a spin coating process so that the edge wall causes the composition to cover the edges of the substrate and preferably a portion of the back side of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6848421
Abstract: A method and control system that directly determines combustion quality by measuring an ionization signal of each combustion event during initial engine operation is shown. The determined combustion quality is used to optimize engine performance for emissions and driveability by compensating various engine control parameters during initial engine operation, including starting. Compensation of engine control parameters may include changes to fuel delivery, spark ignition timing, and engine load. Any compensation of the engine control acts to ensure that a sufficient quantity of vaporized fuel is delivered to the engine to effectively start and operate the engine at the load level demanded by the engine, engine loads, and the operator.
