  • Patent number: 10572956
Abstract: According to one example embodiment, method and apparatus are provided to determine the impact of environmental conditions in an indoor space on human wellness, including automatically obtaining a plurality of scientific measurements of respective environmental conditions in an indoor space, and automatically referencing an electronic data repository containing human wellness information specifying a correlation between a magnitude of a scientific measurement of an environmental condition and human wellness, wherein the correlation specifies a range of magnitudes that are favorable to human wellness, and a range of magnitudes that are not favorable to human wellness. Human readable messages and/or symbols to be displayed in connection with a particular magnitude or range of magnitudes of a scientific measurement are also provided in the electronic data repository, wherein the messages and/or symbols concern an impact of an environmental condition on human wellness.

  • Patent number: 10561715
Abstract: Plantar Heel Pain Syndrome can be of one or more etiologies and symptoms which refutes the mistaken tendency to categorize all plantar heel pain singularly as either plantar fasciitis or fasciosis. Recognizing that there is likely an interplay of inflammatory, degenerative and neuropathic etiologic conditions of this often-difficult malady to treat, a novel injection paradigm of botulinum toxin is explored in the treatment of 4 distinct presentations of Plantar Heel Pain Syndrome with promising results.

  • Patent number: 10535355
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein provide apparatuses and related methods for the communication of spatial audio and related metadata. In some implementations, a source provides prerecorded spatial audio that has embedded metadata. A computing device processes the prerecorded spatial audio to generate an audio codec that is segmented to include a first section of audio data and a second section that includes metadata extracted from the prerecorded spatial audio. The generated audio codec may be received by a device that includes an encoder. The encoder may process the generated audio codec to generate audio data that includes the metadata.

  • Publication number: 20200012246
Abstract: A convenient, water-saving and labor-saving FROG irrigation controller and system are provided, which determine the appropriate water budget and schedule for the property's landscaping based on evapotranspiration data for the geographic area, any regulation data, and property-specific data, with consideration given to reduction in watering days, increase in soil watering depth, and day of year. Once set, the FROG controller provides incremental adjustments over the course of the year; the homeowner no longer needs to re-set the watering program seasonally to automatically comply with local mandated and voluntary watering restrictions. One aspect provides a web-based wizard that is used to determine a customized water budget/schedule which is input into the FROG controller. Another aspect provides an integration of a network of FROG controllers with a central command unit.

  • Patent number: 10525112
Abstract: A method for treating an abnormality of the first metatarsophalangeal joint of the foot of a mammal includes electrically stimulating a site on each of the extensor hallucis brevis and adductor hallucis muscles of a foot of the mammal affected by the abnormality, and visually confirming that the stimulated muscles responds to the stimulation by contracting. An amount of botulinum toxin effective to treat the abnormality is then injected to the confirmed sites on the extensor hallucis brevis and the adductor hallucis muscles of the affected foot.

  • Publication number: 20190384444
Abstract: A system and method for reducing electromagnetic interference comprises generating a first voltage signal based on a settling time of a first electrode, a slew rate of a signal generator, and a harmonic parameter, and driving the first electrode with the first voltage signal. The first voltage signal may be one of a capacitive sensing signal, display update signal, a transmission signal, and a selection signal. Further, a processing system may be configured to operate in one of an absolute capacitive sensing mode and a transcapacitive sensing mode. In an absolute capacitive sensing mode, the processing system is configured to receive a resulting signal with the first electrode, and determine a measurement of a change in capacitive coupling of the first electrode based on the resulting signal.

  • Publication number: 20190358252
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new class of steroid saponins that have interesting biological activity. In particular the present invention relates to a class of steroid saponins in which the sugar moiety has been selectively functionalised to introduce a moiety that contains either, (i) a hydrogen ion donor, (ii) a hydrogen ion acceptor or (iii) a combination thereof. These new, water-soluble compounds are found to not only have potent anti-cancer properties per se but also have the ability to promote the immune response in a subject and can thus act as adjuvants for T-cell activation in cancer therapy.

  • Patent number: 10469975
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a number of techniques for personalization of spatial audio across a plurality of systems. A participant media system participating in a session may generate two outputs: personalized audio data and depersonalized audio data. When a spectator attempts to spectate the session, a media sharing platform may distribute shared depersonalized audio data to the spectator system. Based on this shared depersonalized audio data, the spectator media system can personalized the audio data to cause an endpoint device to render spectator personalized audio based on HRTF data for the spectator. Accordingly, the spectator personalized audio is personalized and allows a rich, immersive spectating experience that overcome drawbacks associated with receiving personalized audio from participant systems.

  • Publication number: 20190302463
Abstract: An optical system comprises a first optical module and a second optical module. A tensioned element includes an upper segment attached to the first optical module and a lower segment attached to the second optical module. Movement of the tensioned element thus generates opposing movement of the first and second optical modules, the first optical module moving in a direction parallel to a direction of movement of the upper segment, and the second optical module moving in a direction parallel to a direction of movement of the lower segment.

  • Patent number: 10419866
Abstract: A system for enabling a shared three-dimensional (ā€œ3Dā€) audio bed available to multiple software applications is provided. The system manages bed metadata defining a number of speaker objects of a 3D audio bed. The bed metadata also associates each speaker object with a location, which in some configurations, is defined by a three-dimensional coordinate system. The bed metadata is communicated to a plurality of applications. The applications can then generate custom 3D audio data that associates individual audio streams with individual speaker objects of the 3D audio bed. The applications can then communicate the custom 3D audio data to a 3D audio bed engine, which causes the processing and rendering of the custom 3D audio data to an output device utilizing a selected spatialization technology. Aspects of the 3D bed can be altered when the spatialization technology or the output device changes.

  • Publication number: 20190268428
Abstract: Systems and methods of determining a geographic location based conversion via a computer network. A data processing system can receive, from a computing device, an indication of interest in an online content item that is associated with a commercial entity having a location. The system can also receive data points that each include time information and location information of a computing device. The system can generate a valid cluster indicating an activity at the location of the commercial entity by evaluating the time information and the location information of two or more data points with a duration threshold and a location threshold. The system can use the valid cluster to identify the indication of interest in the online content item as the location based conversion based on the activity at the location of the commercial entity.
