  • Publication number: 20250075621
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a device (1) for milling processing for example rock and other materials (2), having a spindle drum (5) rotatable mounted on a drum carrier (3) around a drum axis (4), on which several tool spindles (6) are mounted to rotate about spindle axes (7) eccentrically with respect to the drum axis (4), wherein the tool spindles (6) are arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference (8) of the spindle drum (5), wherein the tool spindles (6) each carry several machining tools (9) arranged on an outer circumference of the tool spindles (6) and rotate about the spindle axes (7), wherein at least two of the tool spindles (6) are driven by a common gear drive (10), which has output gear wheels (11) fixedly arranged on the tool spindles (6) and a common drive gear wheel (12), which cooperates with the output gear wheels (11), wherein the spindle drum (5) and the drive gear wheel (12) are rotatable relative to each other, wherein the drive gear wheel (12) is arranged rotationally fixed relat

  • Patent number: 8469458
Abstract: A roller drill for removing material, such as in particular rock, minerals or the like, according to the undercutting principle, comprising a cutting face which is formed concentrically around a central axis and widens conically toward an end face of the roller drill, and includes a supporting body which is arranged on the inner side of the cutting face and extends up to the end face of the tool. In order to provide a roller drill or a roller bit of which the tool life or service life is improved compared with the prior art, the cutting face is made of a harder material than the supporting body and the supporting body forms an annular web which is conical at least at an outer circumferential wall and which defines with its inner circumferential wall a free space at the end face of the tool. The tool can resharpen itself automatically due to the free space and the dissimilar material combination.

  • Publication number: 20030041482
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for excavating rock, minerals and the like, which includes a hub 22 connected to a rotatable drive. Cutting elements such as picks 20a are supported by tool holders connected to the hub. The picks 20a project radially from the hub, and are arranged in oblique relationship to the axis of rotation of the hub. The drive means is preferably designed to impart an eccentric, superimposed percussive action on the hub 22. During use the hub 22 is positioned facing a rock surface and urged along the rock face in transverse relationship to the axis of rotation of the hub, thereby causing the picks 20a to undercut an adjacent region of rock, and thereby excavating successivel layers of rock.

  • Patent number: 5685615
Abstract: An apparatus for treating rock, minerals or similar materials includes at least two tool-bearing sleeves supported by bearings. The tool-bearing sleeves are arranged in eccentric relationship to a common drive shaft. The tool-bearing sleeves are counterbalanced with reference to respective counterweights.

  • Patent number: 4815543
Abstract: A rock cutting assembly consists of a rock cutting roller, a shaft on which it is mounted, and a means for varying the mass of the assembly about the drive axis, to vary the balance of the assembly about that axis. Preferably two rollers are mounted on a common drive axis, the axes of the rollers being diametrally opposed and eccentrically displaced by the same distance from the drive axis. The mass-varying means may be a cavity or cavities in the hub or hubs, with means to introduce fluid into and extract it from the cavity or cavities. Alternatively the means may be a weight mounted to permit adjustment to vary the degree of imbalance.

  • Patent number: 4736987
Abstract: A rock cutting assembly which includes a rock cutting roller with the roller being composed of a central hub portion and an annular cutting element which is rotatably mounted on the hub and carries rock cutting formations, means for driving the hub portion of the roller about an axis which is eccentrically displaced from the hub axis, means engaged with the annular cutting element to limit its direction of rotation relatively to that of its hub to one direction only and means for balancing the roller against its eccentricity as the hub is rotated about its drive axis. Preferably the assembly includes a plurality of rock cutting rollers which are rotatable about a common drive axis with the axes of each roller hub being eccentrically displaced by a common distance and in such a direction from the drive axis so that the rollers balance each other as the rollers are rotated about their drive axis.
