Abstract: A network server for communicating with a network client over a network comprising: a client configuration detector for detecting a configuration of the network client; a server configurator for changing the configuration of the network server; a comparator for determining if the configuration of the network client is compatible with the configuration of the network server; and a server communications component for connecting with the network client using a connection-oriented protocol, wherein the server communications component is operable to disconnect the network client responsive to said comparator.

Abstract: An impact resistant tilt window assembly includes a window frame with side jambs that have legs that extend in the direction of the exterior of the frame, an upper sash, a lower sash that moves vertically and tilts inwardly and tilt latch assemblies that are positioned on the lower sash, each tilt latch assembly includes a latch bolt with a nose end that includes a notch that is sized to engage the associated jamb leg when the lower sash is in a vertical orientation. The notch has an interior leg that moves along an interior side of the jamb leg and an exterior leg that extends behind an exterior side of the jamb leg and moves along the jamb leg when the sash moves vertically. The window assembly may further include U-shaped reinforcing inserts that are positioned within the jambs such that the tilt latch assemblies engage the inserts when the lower sash is in the closed position.

Abstract: A voice mail system has a set of mailboxes. A caller can then leave a message in the appropriate mailbox for the voice mail system subscriber that they were trying to contact. Normally when such a caller first reaches a mailbox, they hear a personalised greeting from the subscriber. It is difficult for the subscriber to keep the greeting brief yet informative. The present invention provides the subscriber with an additional noticeboard on which to record further information. A caller can gain access to this noticeboard by pressing an appropriate DTMF key whilst listening to the greeting. More sophisticated systems can have a hierarchy of noticeboards, with the top one providing menu information, and allowing a caller to select the noticeboard of most relevance to them. The subscriber can password-protect individual noticeboards, so that they can only be accessed by properly authorised callers.
