  • Patent number: 5651496
Abstract: A process for forming a single material from two layers of metal materials by heating and pressing the two metals together under pressure where a first metal has a relatively higher temperature of plastics formation state and the second metal has a relatively lower temperature of plastics formation state comprising the steps of cleaning the surface of the first and second metal, then electroplating a thin layer of the second metal onto the surface of the first metal, then heating the first metal and the thin layer of the second metal electroplated thereon to the temperature of plastics formation state in the second metal, and heating the second metal to the temperature of plastics formation state, and mechanically pressing the thin layer of the second metal on the first metal together with the second metal to form a single ductile material having two layers of said first and second metals.

  • Patent number: 5592176
Abstract: An antenna tracking controller for generating signals used to position an antenna for tracking a moving signal source includes a first Kalman filter for estimating parameters of a first model of the motion of the moving signal source a second Kalman filter for estimating parameters of a second model of the motion of the moving signal source. The second Kalman filter uses the parameters estimated by the first Kalman filter as initial values. A model quality charge/discharge is also provided to monitor the status of the data base.

  • Patent number: 5328158
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous heat treating advancing continuously formed pipe in a restricted space with minimal deformation of the pipe during the heat treatment comprising a pipe feeder; curved rollers for receiving the pipe and advancing the pipe there around. A heat chamber for housing the curved rollers. A heat source for providing heat to the heat chamber and the pipe. A first deforming element for deforming the pipe into a curve for following the curve rollers and for directing the pipe to transverse across the rollers as the pipe is advanced around the rollers. A second deforming means for receiving and deforming the said pipe as it exists from the rollers into a substantial straight line and a take-up roller for receiving the pipe as it comes through the second deforming means.

  • Patent number: 4408748
Abstract: A tubular fence post has a U-shaped cut-out portion to receive a top rail, the upward extension of the fence post walls being bendable over the top rail to secure it. In a second embodiment, one of the upward extensions forms a barb arm that attains a diagonal orientation when bent over the top rail. A shorter upward extension opposite the barb arm has a lock tab bendable over side tabs of the barb arm.
