  • Patent number: 5934798
Abstract: A lamp assembly for illumination of a vehicle license plate includes a substrate, a plurality of light emitting diodes mounted on the substrate, and a lens for directing the light emitted from the light emitting diodes onto the license plate. A housing encases the substrate and the lens. An attachment member fixedly secures the housing to a vehicle displaying the license plate.

  • Patent number: 4893111
Abstract: A solid state flasher for plural turn signal and emergency warning lamps for trucks or the like, capable of flashing very heavy loads with small voltage drop without contact arching and pitting, including a cylindrical cup-shaped housing can, a dielectric disc-shaped closure wafer closing and sealing the open end of the can, an input terminal/heatsink member in the form of a cylindrical tubular metallic shell axially spanning the can having a contact prong projecting through a slot in the closure wafer, an output terminal member of generally rectangular shape adjacent and paralleling the wafer and including a contact prong extending through another wafer slot, and a circuit board assembly having a solid state flasher circuit thereon supported inwardly parallel to the output terminal member.

  • Patent number: 4816818
Abstract: A heavy duty lamp flasher for turn signals for trucks, trailers and the like including a switching relay having normally open and normally closed contacts and a moveable relay arm and relay coil, and an arc suppression circuit formed of a transistor or pair of transistors connected in parallel with the switching relay to minimize contact arcing and load carrying limitations. A diode and capacitor pair is connected to an integrated circuit oscillator for activating and deactivating the relay and another diode and capacitor pair is connected to the gate of the transistor and to the relay coil, such that the mechanical contacts of the relay, with their inherent mechanical delay, control the transistor circuitry so that the transistor provides the primary current path during movement of the arm between the normally closed and normally open contacts and the normally open contact provides the primary current path when it is closed.

  • Patent number: 4740876
Abstract: A shock absorbing mount for a vehicle lamp bulb including an integral flexible plastic suspension member for supporting the bulb in spaced relation to a reflector with the bulb axis arranged horizontally. The suspension device has a central receptacle formation for receiving and supporting an end portion of the bulb horizontally, three flexible arms integrally joining the receptacle formation at equal circumferentially spaced locations each extending radially outwardly from a cylindrical surface of the receptacle at their roots and continuing outwardly as a serpentine recurved strip curving about a pair of horizontal axes of curvature along like vertical reverse curved paths for accommodating displacement of the central receptacle formation in all directions.

  • Patent number: 4739130
Abstract: A three module turn signal switch assembly for heavy trucks and the like comprising an actuating lever housing module, an electric switch module, and a plug module in the form of separately produced units assembled together and removable from each other. The actuating lever module comprises a module casing, a handle member forming a control lever, a yoke member pivotally supporting the handle for lateral and vertical movement, and detent structure to define handle positions for Left Turn, Off, Right Turn and Emergency switch conditions. The switch module is releasably connected to the lever housing module and includes a casing and rotatable armature member driven responsive movement of the handle to these positions, and includes fixed contacts and movable actuator conductor segments to provide proper current paths for the selective switching functions.

  • Patent number: 4437145
Abstract: A shock absorbing lamp assembly for baseless cartridge bulbs for on and off the road motor vehicles, including a rear backing lamp housing member serving as a reflector and lamp housing, a lens cover joined about its perimeter to the housing member to cover said cavity, an elongated baseless cartridge lamp bulb in the cavity having a larger central bulb portion housing filament wire and opposite generally flattened bulb end portions hermetically sealing about filament support pins to support the internal and external portions of the filament support pins, bulb mount assembly comprising a semi-circular U-shaped mounting plate carried on swaged anchor formations of the housing member and a pair of forwardly projecting vertically and laterally flexible shock absorbing arms extending parallel to each other generally perpendicular to the axis of the bulb from the mounting plate formed of rubber-like material of about 60 durometer hardness and having terminal receiving apertures for receiving the flattened bulb end
