The control data are presented graphically to a user, using an interactive display device.     Abstract: The system for donor cornea implantation includes a preparation base having a well for receiving a posterior lamellar donor corneal lenticule, a cartridge disengageably mounted on the base adjacent the well, and a handle for disengageable attachment to a posterior end portion of the cartridge. In drawing the donor lenticule from the well into and through a bore or chamber of the cartridge, from the posterior end, the lenticule is caused to assume a double coil configuration. After attachment of the handle, removal of the assembly from the preparation base, and insertion of blade and adjacent body portions of the cartridge through an incision in the cornea, the coiled donor lenticule is pulled from the cartridge bore through its forward end, to uncoil automatically within the anterior chamber of the recipient's eye.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a method of separating a posterior endothelial layer of a donor cornea having an epithelium, layers of stroma, a Descemet's membrane and an endothelium, after the donor cornea has been harvested from a cadaver. The method comprises the steps of mounting the donor cornea on an artificial anterior chamber provided with a datum point and means for receiving a microkeratome and using the microkeratome to separate the posterior endothelial layer of the donor cornea. The artificial anterior chamber is configured such that the datum point is located at a predetermined height relative to the endothelium when the donor cornea is mounted, and a cutting height of the microkeratome is set to a predetermined height with reference to the datum point. There is also disclosed an artificial anterior chamber and a microkeratome for use with the method.

The wireless access communication unit preferably comprises a separate subscriber interface for each trunk line from the central telephone switch. The wireless access communication unit collects data from each of the subscriber interfaces, formats the data into a format compatible with an over-the-air protocol, and transmits the information over one or more wireless channels to a cellular base station. The wireless access communication unit thereby connects calls received from the central telephone switch's trunk lines over a wireless trunk to a network.

    Abstract: Secure communication protocols are disclosed in which two parties generate a shared secret which may be used as a secure session key for communication between the parties. The protocols are based on Diffie-Hellman type key exchange in which a Diffie-Hellman value is combined with a function of at least a password using the group operation such that the Diffie-Hellman value may be extracted by the other party using the inverse group operation and knowledge of the password. In one embodiment, each of the parties explicitly authenticates the other party, while in another embodiment, the parties utilize implicit authentication relying on the generation of an appropriate secret session key to provide the implicit authentication. Typically, the parties will be a client computer and a server computer.

    Abstract: A password-only mutual network authentication protocol and key exchange protocol using a public key encryption scheme in which a server generates a public key/secret key pair and transmits the public key to a client. The client determines whether the public key was chosen in an acceptable manner, and if so, continues with the protocol. Otherwise, the client rejects authentication. If the protocol is continued, in one embodiment the client generates a parameterp as a function of the public key and a password (or, in an alternate embodiment, as a function of the public key and a function of a password). If the public key space mapping function FPK applied to p, FPK(p), is an element of the public key message space, then the protocol continues. If FPK(p) is not an element of the public key message space, then the client determines to reject authentication, but continues with the protocol so that the server does not gain any information about the password.

    Abstract: A method in a multi-processor computing system is disclosed. The method is an object-oriented method that allows a user to make associations between processes to be executed and available CPUs of the system. In particular, the method includes the displaying of the associations for a user to manipulate. Responses are accepted by the method from a user for creating logical groupings of the CPUs, hereinafter referred to as affinity groups. Next, an affinity mask is accepted from the user for each of the affinity groups, which affinity mask assigns available ones of the CPUs. After this a determination is made as to whether or not there are more CPUs to be assigned to the affinity groups, and if not; specific rules that make associations between the processes and the affinity groups are then accepted by the method from the user.
