  • Publication number: 20150032184
Abstract: A wearable neuromuscular stimulation and neuroprosthetic system and device for treating spinal cord injury, stroke, and other neurological conditions; and for the management of chronic pain. This invention provides a system for transcutaneous neuromuscular stimulation and typically comprises a wearable item that further includes a flexible, non-conductive material; at least one flexible, generally flat electrode attachable to or embedded within the wearable item; and a programmable electrical stimulation device connectable to the electrode(s). Each electrode typically includes a silver-impregnated or silver-treated material.

  • Patent number: 4919148
Abstract: Electrode assembly for transcutaneous neural stimulation comprising a first layer of non-conductive knit fabric material; a flexible, generally flat electrically conductive electrode in confronting relationship with a portion of the fabric material; a second layer of non-conductive material overlying the upper surface of the electrode and dimensioned to extend beyond the periphery of the electrode; means for securing the second layer to the first layer to confine the electrode therebetween and define a generally flat pocket between the electrode and first layer, the pocket operable to receive a conductive fluid therein; and means defining a boundary around the periphery of the electrode for preventing migration of the conductive fluid beyond the periphery of the electrode.
