  • Publication number: 20070170669
Abstract: A system and apparatus for controlling height of a header of a work machine such as an agricultural windrowing machine or a harvesting machine, which includes height control cylinders jointly or individually operable for raising or lowering the opposite ends of a header to achieve a desired overall height or angle of tilt in relation to the surface of a field or pasture to be cut, which allow the header to be raised, and lowered to the previously selected cut height, without changing the lengths of the cylinders, so as to be usable in combination with an optional header lift and/or float system, and including a flow divider capability which increases accuracy of height control, having particular utility for more precisely controlling the heights of the ends of the header, especially when subjected to uneven dynamic loading conditions, such as during rapid spin turns and the like.

  • Publication number: 20070012014
Abstract: An apparatus and method for calibrating a PTO for driving a header of an agricultural windrower, wherein a programmable control module in connection with at least signal operated device in operative control of a variable displacement pump operable for controlling operation of the PTO, is programmed as part of an automatic calibration routine for determining values for the control signals required for operating the header at a predetermined target speed for a plurality or range of speeds of an engine driving the pump, such at the pump can be controlled to minimize occurrences of overpumping of fluid and resultant problems.

  • Publication number: 20060086512
Abstract: A hydraulic pump drive is mounted to the tongue of an agricultural implement. Connecting components between the pump and the drawbar extender of the towing tractor aim the pump input shaft toward the tractor. A short telescoping PTO assembly connects the pump shaft to the tractor PTO shaft using conventional PTO components operating in a nominal equal angle configuration.

  • Publication number: 20050177297
Abstract: The apparatus is an electronic speed control for farm machines. A microprocessor is fed data on the tractor engine speed, the tractor ground speed, and the manual speed lever setting, and electronically matches the desired ground speed to the engine speed to prevent stalling the engine. Ground speed is controlled by using the microprocessor to electrically vary a control valve that replaces the usual mechanical linkage between the speed control lever and the hydraulic pumps driving the hydraulic wheel motors.
