  • Publication number: 20110166629
Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, an implantable telemetry system including an RF transceiver configured to drive an antenna and a matching circuit, configured to be coupled to the antenna, the matching circuit including a control parameter configured to adjust the impedance of the matching circuit. The implantable telemetry system also includes a control circuit configured to receive an indication of the RF transceiver current draw and to control the control parameter of the matching circuit using the received indication of current draw. In an example, the control parameter is controlled to decrease the RF transceiver current draw.

  • Publication number: 20090292340
Abstract: Various embodiments concern a method which may include communicating medical information between a PIMD and an interface module via a first channel in compliance with a predetermined medical information regulatory standard, preventing access to the PIMD via the interface module other than through the first channel, detecting a communication protocol used by an available generic network access device, selecting a communication protocol rule set from a plurality of communication protocol rule sets to effect communication between the interface device and an available generic network access device of a plurality of generic network access devices, and transferring at least some of the medical information to the remote network via a second channel established between the interface module and the available generic network access device using the selected communication protocol rule set.

  • Publication number: 20090228075
Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, a system and method for wirelessly transferring information electromagnetically at a first specified operating frequency range and at a second specified operating frequency range using an implantable antenna. In certain examples, the implantable antenna can include a first non-coiled segment and a first coiled segment, and the first specified operating frequency range and the second specified operating frequency range can be provided at least in part by a physical arrangement of the first coiled segment with respect to the first non-coiled segment.

  • Patent number: 5570263
Abstract: A surge protector for coupling exposed (to power surges) data communication end ports having a plurality of bi-directional data lines, and protected data communication end ports having a plurality of associated bi-directional data lines. The surge protector includes a plurality of exposed end terminals, each exposed end terminal for connection to a data line of the exposed port, and a plurality of protected end terminals, each protected end terminal for connection to an associated data line of the protected port. The surge protector includes a plurality of transient surge protection elements. Each transient surge protection element is connected across one exposed terminal and a ground, and short circuits current to ground when voltage on the exposed terminal reaches a threshold limit. The surge suppressor also includes a plurality of opto-isolation elements, each connected between a connection for a transient surge suppressor element and a protected terminal.

  • Patent number: 5543727
Abstract: An automated functional test system for PC circuit boards. The test system includes a test chamber for removably receiving circuit boards to be tested, heating and cooling systems for controlling the temperature in the test chamber, a display, a variable circuit board power supply and diagnostics memory for storing PC circuit board diagnostic software. A control system is coupled to the heating and cooling systems, display, power supply and diagnostics memory. The control system causes the circuit board to execute the diagnostic software during low temperature, high temperature and cycling temperature diagnostic phases. The diagnostic phases are sequentially and repeatedly performed during a test cycle. The cooling system is actuated during the low temperature diagnostic phases to cool the test chamber to ambient temperature. The heating system is actuated during the high temperature diagnostic phases to heat the test chamber.
