Patent number: 11925847Abstract: A multi-dimensional adjustable device for use in training skiers is disclosed. The ski training device of the present invention provides a horizontal support bar having a cushioned proximal end for comfortably engagement with a skier's chest and an opposite, distal end which can be gripped by a ski instructor. Specifically, a pair of adjustable upward-facing handles is positioned on the support bar to be gripped by the skier after the width between the handles is adjusted in accordance with the width of the skier's shoulders, and after the pair of handles is adjustably positioned along the length of said support bar in accordance with the length of the skier's arms. In this manner, skier leans forward in a proper skiing position. The distal end of the support bar provides a hand grip for the instructor. Also, an additional grip is adjustably positioned near the distal end, which provides an alternative grip for the instructor.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2021Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Inventors: Philip Gotthelf, John C. Publication number: 20220049430Abstract: Compositions and methods for making biocidal currency are disclosed. The compositions of the within invention contain biocidal silver or silver compounds, which include elemental silver, nanoparticulate silver, colloidal silver, inorganic silver, including silver oxide, silver compounds and silver salts, that exhibit antibacterial and/or antiviral properties. Ink formulations that are used in the printing of currency, such as offset printing and intaglio printing, which incorporate the biocidal silver are also disclosed. In addition, the biocidal silver is formulated within pulp mixtures during the currency paper or linen-making processes. Methods of employing the biocidal silver or silver compounds of this invention include high pressure engravement printing where the silver impregnates the fiber, being cellulosic fiber, cotton or linen, forming a permanent biocidal layer within or on the surface of the currency, and offset printing.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2021Publication date: February 17, 2022Inventors: Philip GOTTHELF, Brian L. Patent number: 11168871Abstract: An improved magnetic induction lighting fixture for wide area lighting and other uses is disclosed. The magnetic lighting fixture of the present invention provides a tubular magnetic induction lamp in a lighting fixture which provides maximum light dispersion from the fixture, wherein the light dispersion and focal distance are adjustable depending on the application. Specially, the lighting fixture integrates an assembly containing the tubular magnetic induction bulb into a housing unit having a primary reflector element at the center of the housing that is specifically configured for the geometry of the magnetic induction bulb. The internal surface of the housing constitutes a secondary reflector, providing a high-efficiency reflection surface which, together with the primary reflector, provides for maximum reflection and focus of the light produced by the magnetic induction bulb.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2020Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Inventors: Philip Gotthelf, John C. Publication number: 20080228664Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method of automatically bundling environmental conservation items with computed environmental conservation values into “credit blocks” so that the aggregate sum of the environmental conservation values of the items in a particular block is sufficient to issue a tradable environmental commodity, also referred to as a credit. In some such embodiments the various different items represent items with different forms of environmental conservation such as emissions reductions, energy savings, hazardous waste reductions, or generated renewable energy. In some embodiments, credits with at least one expired item are unbundled and the at least one expired item is removed from the credit block. Some embodiments replace the at least one expired item with at least one valid item having the same or a similar environmental conservation value.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2008Publication date: September 18, 2008Inventors: Philip Gotthelf, Nathan Guedalia

Publication number: 20080228631Abstract: Some embodiments perform buyer bundling to permit a buyer the ability to purchase only a portion or percentage of a credit by bundling several buyers into “buyer blocks”. Each buyer within a buyer block desires to offset its polluting activities, where the polluting activities of each buyer equates to only a fraction of the total pollution offsetting afforded by a single credit. In some such embodiments, the aggregate of all buyers in the buyer block exhausts the full pollution offsetting potential of the credit. Moreover, the cost for purchasing the credit is distributed amongst the buyers of the buyer block in proportion to their desired participation in the purchase of the credit.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2008Publication date: September 18, 2008Inventors: Philip Gotthelf, Nathan Guedalia

Publication number: 20080228558Abstract: Some embodiments qualify an item and a protocol associated with the item by determining an amount of environmental conservation that is related to the actual use or implementation of the item by a registrant. Some embodiments quantify the environmental conservation of an item by determining an amount of emissions reduction, energy savings, hazardous wastes or materials that are properly disposed of, or generated renewable energy associated from the qualified environmental conservation of the item. Some embodiments then valuate the quantified environmental conservation to issue a tradable credit. Some embodiments provide a protocol generation engine. The protocol generation engine of some embodiments automatically generates a new protocol for an environmental conservation item from the environmental conservation properties of the item. Some embodiments of the protocol generation engine provide an interface for the manual generation of a protocol.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2008Publication date: September 18, 2008Inventors: Philip Gotthelf, Nathan Guedalia

Publication number: 20080228632Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method of registering various types of environmental conservation items such as products, projects, or technologies with sets of environmental conservation properties through an electronic interface. In some embodiments, the electronic interface allows registrants the ability to register an environmental conservation item using only a minimal set of identification data, where the identification data includes at least one parameter for identifying the item. The electronic interface facilitates the registration of the item by associating the set of environmental conservation properties to the item. Some embodiments provide a trading platform to facilitate the buying, selling, and trading of credits. In some such embodiments, the trading platform directly interfaces with the trading platforms of other exchanges in order to unify the buyers, sellers, and credits from all such trading platforms into a single unified interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2008Publication date: September 18, 2008Inventors: Philip Gotthelf, Nathan Guedalia

Publication number: 20080228665Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method of automatically bundling environmental conservation items with computed environmental conservation values into “credit blocks” so that the aggregate sum of the environmental conservation values of the items in a particular block is sufficient to issue a tradable environmental commodity. Some embodiments bundle all environmental conservation values associated with the registrations of a particular registrant. The registrant may then subsequently withdraw from his/her individually bundled environmental conservation in order to directly offset some polluting activity without having to purchase credits. Some embodiments provide distributed bundling by allocating a fractional portion of an environmental conservation value produced from a registered item to at least two separate entities.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2008Publication date: September 18, 2008Inventors: Philip Gotthelf, Nathan Guedalia
