  • Patent number: 4212468
Abstract: Game apparatus in which symbols provided in a predetermined pattern on a sheet are to be marked selectively includes a sheet of flexible translucent material having the symbol pattern overlying, and a substantially rigid backing member attached to the translucent sheet and being coated with a pigmented material and a pressure sensitive, releasable adhesive material at least in areas corresponding generally to the symbol pattern so that pressure on the translucent sheet will urge that sheet into contact with the adhesive material and cause the pigmentation to show through the translucent sheet.

  • Patent number: 4204363
Abstract: An amusement device including a cylindrical liquid container which appears to be either filled or empty upon rotation of the container. In one embodiment, a toy tank truck has a rotatable tank portion which includes an outer cylindrical wall and an inner cylindrical wall spaced from the outer wall to define a limited volume of space. A liquid reservoir is mounted on a portion of the outer wall whereby the reservoir may be above the limited volume of space in a fill position and below the limited volume of space in a drain position, upon rotation of the tank. Several reservoirs may be provided and each reservoir can include scoops to facilitate storage of the liquid in the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4123871
Abstract: An amusement device in the form of a tea kettle simulates, without heat, the boiling of water within the device and the sound of steam escaping therefrom, the device including a primary reservoir initially filled with a liquid, a lower reservoir from which air bubbles through the liquid in the primary reservoir to simulate boiling, and means providing for the rapid introduction of air into the device to produce a sound simulating the sound of escaping steam.

  • Patent number: 4060931
Abstract: A toy truck simulates the dumping of granular material within a closed container which is pivotally mounted to the truck chassis and has a transparent upward facing wall to exhibit the movement of the granular material during the simulated dumping. Pivoting the container upward from its normally horizontal position causes the material to slide from a visible dumping chamber to a concealed receiving chamber, and by further pivoting of the container the material is returned to the dumping chamber for repetition of simulated dumping. A metal foil membrane may be positioned for striking by the granules to produce a sound accompanying the simulated dumping. A self-operating valve may be used to control flow of the material.

  • Patent number: 3990772
Abstract: A kaleidoscope wherein the admitted light is reflected into an otherwise darkened chamber which contains one or more varieties of reflective objects whose surfaces pick up the admitted light and reflect it in varying patterns between angled mirrors of the kaleidoscope in a reflecting tube. The color of the admitted light and thus the colors of the pattern may be selectively determined by the admission of only predetermined colors of light to the interior of the device. Apparatus is provided to filter the admitted light and reflect it to the reflective objects.
