  • Patent number: 7344167
Abstract: A door security apparatus and method that is adapted to assist in retaining a pair of adjacent doors in a closed state, thereby to help protect against unauthorized opening of the doors by placing the doors into an open state. The door security apparatus includes a channeled extension beam having a longitudinal axis, the beam is adapted to fit over and removably engage a pair of adjacent door edges that are in the closed state and a mechanism for manually selectively rotatably clamping or unclamping the beam to at least one door edge. Wherein the doors have increased protection against unauthorized opening, thus placing the doors into a more secured closed state, the mechanism only manually selectively clamping or unclamping the beam from the door edge by applying a manual external force in conjunction with manual forward or manual reverse rotation.

  • Patent number: 6570109
Abstract: A micro-switch is mounted within a housing and is electrically connectable to an irrigation controller. The switch has a spring biased actuating lever pivotable between ON and OFF positions. A single disc made of a hygroscopic material is mounted within the housing adjacent the inner end of the lever for absorbing rainfall and rapidly expanding a sufficient amount to move the actuating lever from its ON position to its OFF position to thereby cause the watering program of the irrigation controller to be interrupted. A stack of moisture absorptive discs made of the same hygroscopic material is mounted in the housing adjacent an outer end of the lever. When the stack of discs receives rainfall it slowly expands and maintains the actuating lever in its OFF position after the single hygroscopic disc has dried and contracted to ensure that watering is not re-initiated too soon after a storm.

  • Patent number: 6360459
Abstract: A tiltable bucket assembly includes a bucket and an interface member. The bucket has a front loading portion, a rear connecting portion with a front surface adjacent the front loading portion and a rear surface opposite therefrom, and a pair of spaced guide members connected to the rear surface. The bucket defines a substantially enclosed chamber that extends from the front surface and terminates within the front loading portion. The interface member is rotatably mounted with the bucket. The interface member has opposed side portions supported within the guide members. A hydraulic cylinder is located within the chamber and has a rod end portion connected to the bucket and a head end portion connected to the interface member. The hydraulic cylinder is adapted to provide rotational movement of the bucket about the interface member upon actuation.
