Abstract: Embodiments include a data based methodology for projecting cumulative shipments of a product throughout the balance of its lifecycle and comparing that estimate to a proposed sales and operating plan (SOP) to drive scrap avoidance and healthy contention against the SOP that may or may not be attainable. Modelling uses critical milestones to break a product life cycle into manageable segments. One or more recommendations with respect to the SOP are provided, including supporting the SOP or changing the SOP to drive product procurement.

The curves are used as a reference point with a product analysis to statistically forecast an end of life demand for the predecessor product.
