  • Publication number: 20040047365
Abstract: A communications protocol for providing a connection-oriented interconnection via an internet protocol communications system (for example, via the Internet) between a first mobile terminal and a node (for example a fixed or mobile terminal or a server), in which the first mobile terminal and the node form part of an internet session; in which the first mobile terminal is initially connected to the node via a first mobile controller (MC) in which the protocol comprises means for providing to the first MC an internet address relating to the node and a record number identifying the internet session. The protocol also provides for maintaining the session as the interconnection between the first mobile terminal and the node is redirected form via the first MC to via a second MC.

  • Patent number: 4404785
Abstract: A partition assembly includes post cover plates for masking the lower portion of vertical, round posts disposed intermediate a plurality of elevated panels. The upper section of each post cover plate includes an arcuate segment having a curvature substantially mating that of the vertical post cylindrical walls while an attached lower section on the post cover plate is provided with an outer wall having lateral edges substantially aligned with the plane of the outer faces of the adjacent panel or panels. The post cover plates are installed with the lower sections disposed below the plane of the panel bottoms and are retained in position by the engagement of grooves adjacent the lower section lateral edges and the juxtaposed end edges of panel cover plates mounted beneath adjacent panels.

  • Patent number: 4161305
Abstract: A control mechanism for a tilt seat chair includes a control body supported in a relatively stationary position by a fixedly attached vertical post member. A torsion unit comprising a pair of resiliently urged concentric sleeves extends through opposed sidewalls of the control body forwardly of the post member and includes a forwardly extending tension lever having adjusting means constantly bearing against a case hardened transverse plate carried by the control body. A chair seat spider assembly pivotedly supported solely by the innermost sleeve of the torsion unit normally abuts, in its at-rest-position, nonmetallic forward stop means carried by the control body and is limited in rearward tilting displacement by abutment of the same spider assembly with rear stop ramps comprising integral portions of the control body disposed rearwardly of the vertical post member.

  • Patent number: 4101166
Abstract: A control mechanism for a tilt back chair includes a control body supported in a relatively stationary position by an integral vertical post member. A torsion unit is freely mounted between two flanges of the control body rearwardly of the post member and includes two spring-urged components respectively joined to a rearwardly extending tilt bracket and a forwardly extending tension lever. The tension lever includes a medial opening freely surrounding the post member and adjustment means acting upon its forward edge to vary the angular relationship between the tension lever and control body and thus the torque being applied to the tilt bracket.

  • Patent number: 3991965
Abstract: A chair seat support apparatus includes a base column internally housing means automatically operable only when the chair seat is unoccupied to allow vertical altering of the height of the seat upon rotation thereof. A screw post is journalled within the base column by means of vertically displaceable upper and lower bearings between which is disposed a notched adjustment nut carried by the screw post. Spring means, responsive to an unoccupied chair seat, urges the lower bearing upwardly which in turn vertically displaces the adjustment nut and its captive screw post. Stop means carried by the base column limits the vertical displacement of the adjustment nut and also precludes arcuate motion of the adjustment nut when elevated such that subsequent rotation of the chair seat and screw post produces vertical displacement thereof relative the base column and adjustment nut.

  • Patent number: 3976343
Abstract: A locking mechanism for drawers in an article of furniture includes a unitary lock transfer rod fully disposed within the furniture top and provided with a plurality of axially spaced crank portions. Only those crank portions associated with drawer columns are attached to individual vertical lock bars each having one or more resilient lock dogs thereon whereby, subsequent arcuate displacement of any one of the crank portions is translated as a concurrent displacement of all crank portions and the attached lock bars to move the lock dogs into and out of engagement with striker means carried by the drawers.

  • Patent number: 3971182
Abstract: A portable wall assembly includes a plurality of panel members having vertical lateral edges releasably attachable to either square or round supporting posts by means of hook-type mounting clips projecting from the upper and lower portions of each panel vertical edge and insertable within the interior of the supporting posts prior to the actuation of a connector plug in the top thereof which is manipulated to produce expansion of the plug in a manner causing a rigid locking of the panels to the adjacent supporting posts.
