  • Publication number: 20240254718
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for repurposing discarded asphalt shingles as fill material or structural members in building and land surface constructions. Discarded asphalt shingles (DAS) are placed beneath building foundation slabs and parking lots in overlapping patterns to replace a measured amount of removed soil to serve as fill material. Building block system (BBS) units or repurposed asphalt blocks (RAB), may be produced to facilitate handling and transport of the DAS materials to the construction site. DAS can be utilized beneath parking lots by layering the shingles in overlapping patterns to create a moisture barrier from water intrusion from above or below. Repurposed asphalt materials may further be used in the construction of other types of embankments and ground surface constructions to provide both vertical and horizontal support.

  • Patent number: 8678132
Abstract: An exhaust system includes a muffler, an inlet pipe, and an exhaust pipe. The muffler includes an inlet hole adapted to receive the inlet pipe and an outlet hole to receive the exhaust pipe. The inlet pipe has a first and second linear portions extending from a radiused portion, the first and second linear portions being generally perpendicular to one another. The radiused portion and the first linear portion of the inlet pipe are positioned within the muffler. Portions of the inlet pipe and exhaust pipe located within the muffler may optionally include perforations and be closed off.

  • Publication number: 20110289398
Abstract: A method and computer-executable program code for displaying data in a table having columns, rows and a plurality of cells defined by the columns and rows. The method involves the steps of creating a first and a second sub-tables positioned one above another or side-by-side. The top sub-table defines a non-scrollable, fixed header, while the bottom table defines a scrollable data table. The top table has a visible part and a hidden part, which contains records copied from a maximum width cell in the top or bottom table corresponding to each individual column. To form a fixed sidebar, the code computer-executable program code adjusts the height of the rows based on the parameters of a maximum height cell in the row.

  • Publication number: 20070144323
Abstract: A drum sectioner includes a plurality of wires extending between an upper chamber and a lower chamber. Electrical current through the wires causes the wires to become hot enough to melt/cut plastic. One ore more plastic drums placed in the upper chamber are sectioned by the hot wires without producing any shavings or dust. The drum is sectioned as it descends from the upper chamber to the lower chamber through the wires.

  • Publication number: 20050091172
Abstract: A method of executing a transaction associated with performance of an action involving a plurality of parties includes the steps of a first party initiating a transaction by contacting a designated call center through a secure portal and requesting performance of an action. Another step includes the call center querying a second party regarding predetermined preferences of the first party. Still another step includes one of the first party and the call center selecting a third party to perform the requested action. The selection being based at least in part upon the predetermined preferences. Yet another step includes the call center contacting the third party through the secure portal and arranging for performance of the requested action by the third party.
