  • Publication number: 20080312112
Abstract: The present invention provides a working fluid additive for use in conjunction with a working fluid within an operating system having contact surfaces. The working fluid additive may consist solely of a highly polar material, but preferably includes both a highly polar material and a material that is synergistic to the highly polar material. The highly polar materials have a great affinity for the contact surfaces within the operating system and, therefore, produce film layers on the contact surfaces sufficient to significantly eliminate the frictional losses experience in the boundary regime of lubrication. By including a synergistic polar material, the efficacy as well as the thickness of this film layer is increased to further increase friction reduction. Organo-metallics may be utilized to further decrease wear and friction. An enhancing accelerator may be used to increase the compatibility between the host working fluid and the additive.

  • Patent number: 5230815
Abstract: A process for coating a machine part surface wherein the surface is cleaned, abraded and treated so as to render the surface directly bondable to a resin-bonded lubricant coating. A powder coating containing resin and resin-bondable lubricant then is directly applied to the treated machine part surface and cured so as to cross-link the resin.

  • Patent number: 4529301
Abstract: A system for optimizing the printing of photographs. For color prints, a piece of photography paper is progressively and sequentially exposed to varying amounts of light of the primary colors, developing a color matrix on the paper. A neutral grey area on the paper identifies the optimum settings for the color filters and the exposure settings for the print system. A similar technique is presented for development of black and white prints by the generation of a grey level matrix, varying as to exposure setting.
