  • Patent number: 7912742
Abstract: A method for visualizing airline flight schedules graphically simulates the effect of a program implemented in airline flight operations to reduce the effect of disruptions in scheduled airline flights. One or more disruptions are introduced into a pre-selected airline flight schedule, using frequency distributions of disruptions and disruption severities, resulting in a disrupted flight schedule that reflects both initial and propagated delays. The disrupted flight schedule is used to visually simulate flight operations in 4-D, allowing comparisons of “as is” and “what if” scenarios.

  • Patent number: 7565331
Abstract: Methods and systems for modeling functional processes in enterprises, and for simulating and valuing the effects of various products and services on those processes, are described herein. The cost of disruptions in service of commercial fleets of transportation vehicles such as aircraft, is assessed. The causes of the disruptions are determined and for each such cause, disruption events are classified according to their duration. The cost factors are established and then accumulated to reflect the cost per cause and severity of disruption. Curves are developed that allow users to identify the disruptions that are most costly.
