Patent number: 8757023Abstract: A reversible gearbox features a first input gear mounted on for rotation about a first axis and a second input gear mounted for rotation about a second axis parallel to the first axis in a counter-rotational relationship with the first input gear. The input gears are arranged for selective coupling of either one thereof to a drive source rotatable in a predetermined direction, whereby at least one output gear is arranged within the gear train for driven rotation of the output gear in opposite directions depending on which of the first and second input gears is driven in the predetermined direction by the drive source. Accordingly, a unidirectional drive source can be used to drive the gearbox output in either direction by selecting from different input connections. The gearbox may be employed for an agricultural auger to be driven by the power take-off of a tractor.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2011Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Star Industries (Manitoba) Ltd.Inventors: Murray Ternovetsky, Philip Lester

Publication number: 20080320093Abstract: The present invention is directed to systems and methods for sending individual email messages in a batch, and monitoring the information returned from every receiving mail server to make sure that the failure rate for each server does not rise too high. Two running counts are maintained for every receiving mail server—one count for successful delivery messages, another count for failed delivery messages. A calculation is maintained based on the number of success messages divided by the number of failure messages for each receiving mail server. The calculated result is treated like a score, and is compared to a pre-set value. When the pre-set value is met or exceeded for an individual receiving mail server, the continued sending of email messages to the mail server is stopped. A notification is provided to the sending mail server administrator indicating mail to the individual receiving mail server was stopped.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2008Publication date: December 25, 2008Applicant: Goolara, LLCInventor: Philip Lester Thorne

Publication number: 20070077625Abstract: A method for purifying a desired heterologous polypeptide from microbial fermentation broth or homogenate in which it is produced and solubilized is described. This method involves adding to the broth or homogenate an effective amount of a solution of 6,9-diamino-2-ethoxyacridine lactate (ethacridine lactate) to precipitate host cell impurities under conditions wherein the majority of polypeptide remains soluble, and separating the desired polypeptide from the broth or homogenate. The broth or homogenate containing the ethacridine lactate and polypeptide is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2006Publication date: April 5, 2007Inventors: Philip Lester, Josefine Persson

Patent number: 7113947Abstract: A technique for manipulating objects at a computer is described. The technique includes receiving one or more requests to manipulate an object, wherein each request is received from a different thread. Each request to manipulate an object generates a copy of the object and a unique identifier for each copy of the object. A request to manipulate a copy of an object is distinguished from other requests to manipulate other copies of the object using the unique identifier. Additionally, a technique for accessing objects at a computer is described. The technique includes receiving a request from a client process for an object which is stored in an object server. A library server process is allocated to handle the object request. Transfer of the requested object is initiated. Thereafter, the library server process that was allocated to the object request is released.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2002Date of Patent: September 26, 2006Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Donald Edward Benson, Philip Lester Flowers, Chris Myunghoon Lee, Thomas S. Patent number: 5802524Abstract: The invention relates to directing one or more object-based search engines to an object store, which stores information archived according to parametric classifiers. In order for the object-based search engine to access the objects, a special index class, in the form of a SQL table is created. The index class comprises attributes of a part number, an object identification number, an item identifier, a search state attribute, and a search engine identifier, an object being assigned a corresponding value for each attribute and each object being uniquely identified by the item identifier attribute. The search engine is activated depending on the type of data object to be indexed, in accordance with the search state attribute the catalog table. A computer readable medium is provided with program code to implement the above integration.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1996Date of Patent: September 1, 1998Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Philip Lester Flowers, Stefan Raimund Orban, Roland Seiffert, Thomas S.
