    Abstract: An improved anode is disclosed for high resistivity, cathodic protection systems in which D. C. current is impressed from the anode. The anode includes a cable comprising a conductor with an insulating jacket, with a mesh or expanded metal sheet of platinum - clad - niobium formed about and gripping the insulating jacket. The platinized mesh is electrically connected to the conductor at an enclosed terminal along the length of the cable.
