  • Patent number: 6315165
Abstract: The device has a casing (1) having a base end (2), a top portion (3) opposite the base end and side wall portions (4) intermediate the base end and the top portion; a squeezer (11) insertable in the casing (1); the squeezer comprising two opposing jaws (12, 13) for gripping and expressing a substance from the tube (24). The casing (1) has an aperture (5) in the top portion (3) through which a discharge outlet (26) of a tube (24) is extendable and further having apertures (8) in opposing parts of the side wall portions through which the jaws (12, 13) are actuatable. The casing (1) is open at its base end and the squeezer (11) is insertable into the casing through its open base end. The jaws of the squeezer are attached at one end to a carrier (14) and the carrier and the casing have interengaging formations for retention of the squeezer in the casing. The squeezer (11) and the carrier (14) are integrally formed so as to form a unitary body.

  • Patent number: 5307953
Abstract: The application describes a dispenser for manual discharge of a single dose of a flowable substance, comprising a casing (1) which has a nozzle (2) and a pair of shoulders (3) aside the nozzle. The nozzle (2) has a piston member (5) extending inwardly from an outlet opening (9), the piston member having at least one discharge channel. A container (10) of the substance to be discharged is mounted on the piston member (5), and a seal (12) is arranged across the container (10) to seal in all the substances to be discharged. The piston member (5) has a piercing member (8) which extends towards the seal (12), whereby on pressing the container (10) on to the piston member (5) the seal (12) is pierced to allow the contents of the container (10) to be expelled along the discharge channel and out through the outlet opening (9).

  • Patent number: 5137516
Abstract: The application describes an administering device, in particular a self-injecting device, comprising a body for holding a container of a substance to be administered, a release mechanism, and means controlled by the release mechanism to discharge the said substance. The body is formed of two parts, one part being movable relative to the other, wherein one part has a trigger and the said release mechanism is partly actuated by the operation of a trigger of the said one part and partly actuated by movement of the other part relative to the said one part, but is only wholly actuated by both the operation of the trigger and the movement of the other part. Thus the discharge means cannot be accidentally actuated.
