    Abstract: A method and apparatus facilitate the removal of a fire sprinkler head extending into an opening formed in the ceiling. The apparatus includes a pliable belt that engages the conduit leading to the fire sprinkler head such that damage to the ceiling is minimized or eliminated. The belt is mounted on the end of a handle that extends up into the ceiling. The handle does not have to be tilted when it is used to wrap the belt around the conduit. Avoiding the canting of the handle minimizes the probability that the ceiling will be damaged during use of the apparatus.
